Well the only problem is that if you don't sell them some one else will!
Its a buyers market out there with all the ex cold war weapons laying around not being used anymore.

First up if we didn't buy the tanks from the USA, then we'd get them from some other country.
As one member stated, we are almost the 51st state and will buy US military hardware even if its not suited to Oz conditions.
Australia needs the new tanks as the Leopards are not up to modern challenges and modern weaponary. A modern anti-tank weapon that is man portable will defeat the Aussie leopards.
Personally i feel the British challenger would have been a better choice but as mentioned earlier, we do fight along US forces and thus need to be compatable.
