HAHAHA, i know you are but what am i? i asked first?
are you serious?

Where did I say that? I asked that user for proof, instead they avoided the question, uncleverly at that.

What makes you think I do not have a right to question this? Interesting you jumped into this situation suddenly, are you a puppet?

even while you've been refuted already

As it is now your just rambling

How so?

Your previous points have been completely refuted

You keep saying that and yet you have not shown me where. Could it be because such a thing has not happened yet, other than in your own head of course?

My proof? I just provided it above.

Then you’ll have no problem re-posting it in a reply to me, proof that specifically counters my argument.

You need more work on your trolling. Its quite obvious what your up to, so yet again:

1. Make a statement that consistent of a logical, singular train of thought.
2. Elaborate on said statement.
3. Let me respond.
4. Debate the substance of our disagreement, and do not attempt to drag me around in circles over what you did or did not say in order to deflect when you realize you were wrong.

If you are incapable of doing this, then stop derailing the thread with your trolling. This isn't high school. Its like watching a 8 year old try to get the last word because while they have no point and have no idea what they are talking about, they somehow think if they get it they "win." Go ahead kid, go for it. Hopefully all your trolling and trying to feel like a big kid has been worth it! You can tell its summer time on ATS, the kids and trolls are out in full force. Can't wait until school gets back in.

PLEASE tell me you just did not use the mass media to proclaim that doom and gloom was real. Man, that was funny. Of course the media proclaims doom around every corner, IT IS WHAT THEY DO. It is what they have always done, it is what they will always do. I've provided proof that the end is not nigh, and here is more DATA (not media hype):

Raises rising and GDP growing:
Number of banks under FDIC watch growing less and other FDIC statistics:
Happiness in US stable and growing worldwide:
USA ranked number 1 in prosperity index:

OK, ALITD, I'm done with you.
One of your "sources" was a link to an article on a Lower Legal Drinking Age.
And the other was some sketchy ranking from 2007. The current problems only really got rolling in April of 2008.
How can I debate you if you're not making sense?
My sources are not MSNBC or CNN stories. There are from respected publications on both sides of the Atlantic.
I won't work for you any more.

If you are incapable of doing this

As incapable as you are of providing the proof I asked for and addressing my full post?

Go ahead kidtroll

Again you can not debate my post, you are not even capable of responding to it fully so you go back to the name calling, and you aren’t even good at that. I suspect you are resorting to puppetry as well.

The data shows your wrong, so you run - how surprising. Science Daily was in my saved links but apparently the page has changed, I've now updated to go directly to the University of Michigan source. I guess the University of Michigan - a well known and respected top research university - is lying to us as well? And the "random ranking" is one of the most well known prosperity rankings in the world, right up there with the UN development index - which, by the way - ALSO has the US at the top:

I normally wouldn't use wikipedia, but it uses data directly from the UN, it just displays it better and all at once.

By the way - your "sources"? Please. One of them was a link to a scam investment on "developing countries" trying to sell a report. Another was from a think tank which is known to be lunatic fringe. Seriously, is this the best you got? With all of the media constantly telling us how the end is nigh, you can do far better. Do your research. Typing in "economic depression US 2008" is not research - which it looks like is exactly what you did.

Back to the topic and my two worthless pennies on it. Americans are too fat, lazy and overall too stupid/ignorant to carry out a nation-wide revolution of any sort. Any foolish attempt would end in failure, just sit back and enjoy the show.

Wow you posteed that times aren't tougher now. Yes it is going to be. What ever is happening now is what will effect the future.

We will be worst that what your poor conditions were. You had mac and cheese. If what people said on ATS about the U.S economy comes true we will soon be eating with the cows. eating grass or any plants or fish that's raw.

I don't agree with you. I see more and more restrictions. I am currently trying to get into a business and been trying for 2 years and finding out in many areas other big businesses are playing a hidden monoploy. They make sure no new company comes about.

I can't bealive people are going crazy over terrorists. in 2003 I went with my hockey team to go watch a university college hockey game at a professioanl Rink area. They had tough security. I have contacts for my eyes and if they bother me I usally wear my glasses. so I have a case with my glasses in my pocket. I went through the metal detector and it beeped since I look arabish they told me to go against the wall they pat me down found my glasses case opened it and trying to see if their were any hidden compartments. they then told me to wait outside which I did.

Then down the steps I see a military hummer drive up. A guy comes out of it in military uniform. He came up to me grabed the glasses and the case and aske me what am I doing here. I go umm me and my hockey teamates are going to watch the game.
He then asked me if I have any hidden compartments in my glasses case and I go no. He asked me why do I have glasses. I said I have contacts now and if they bother me I use my glasses. He asked for my drivers license and check that on the licenses it says that I need glasses ect he was verifing if I was telling the truth.

this took a half hour then after all that he told me to go back of the line and the line was long. By the time I got back through the security check I met my coach which asked what happened and saying he was looking all over for me. I then told them and they lol.

SO I am saying I feel their is less freedom here then it was before.

I don't get how we are known as a free country when we have like the most laws in the world.

Their is a person over here that came from Iraq and she worked their for 10 years as a bank teller. She came here and found out she had to go back to college here to go for accounting classes.
She told me that over here the banks system is more complex that theirs.

She struggled and failed many classes. She said that here in college we had more work like hw and tests then in Iraq.

So I just see only big businesses only enjoying america since they have more say in the gov then us. Money really talks in the U.S

you can bribe anyone in the U.S just as long it's undercover.

My IT teacher told us that in the U.S you are allowed to bribe and kill ect until your caught at it.

This means that in the U.S if you do your thing secretly you can get away with it.

In other countries it's open in public.

I really think something big will happen. I also don't think john titor is real.

you first post and the making of this thread seems you really agaisnt many people on what they think.

I do bealive about the bilder burg. I would like why you think what you think.
Is their more then just saying I don't think we will have war ect ect... blah blah.

I would like why you think the way you do and how can you prove that the stuff on tv and the U.S gov isn't lieing to us.

They have lied so many times that some of it was even caught.

Like area51. The U.S denied it for a long time until they got sued for a area51 worker. The judge kept saying that their is no such base and lol at the laywer.

the laywer had to get a satilight photo to prove that the base exist then finally after many threats to the lawyer they admit it.

I few years ago I would have agreed completely. But I don't think that is the case. Despite the younger crowd's self interest in just becoming famous for being famous like Paris Hilton. I have had private conversations with a younger guy that despite his outward persona of being a..well, prick. He did start a few conversation that were rather deep on the subjects of duty, honor and fears of the unknown future.

So I asked him leading questions on what is right and wrong and what is a worthy cause and should you continue a fight when all seems lost. What is something worth dying for and trying for...and other types of questions over a series of conversations. His answers were surprising to me on the quality of his convictions even when I played devil's advocate to shake him.

As for myself, I had always planed to go off to the hills. But when Reagan died and I dug out the handcrank to lower the flag to halfmast at the hospital that day, I stared at the flag as it seemed so large and close enough to the ground that I could almost touch it and entered quite reflection. I can only say that some of my thoughts about what this nation is and means to me and the struggles of the forefathers to bring it about and keep it prepared me for those conversations that were to come a few years later.

I have known about a time when the people will have to fight for about 23 years now. I put it out of my mind a go on with my life as best I can. But I know that the time is coming and will happen. I have felt it was the government but not positive as I never saw who the enemy was in that vision and despite what some may say...that vision was as clear as day. I don't proclaim a gift of prophesy, although I have had other visions that have come to pass exactly as I saw them even one that was rather convoluted and required many things to happen that did not make sense in the context presented.

That said, are we on the edgenow? I honestly have no idea. I only know that it will one day happen. And that it might not even be our government that we fight. As for what I will do when the time comes will depend on what I feel is my best course of action.

As for signs of how the economy is doing right now. Let's just say I delivered truckloads of credit card offers issued by everyone and their dog to bulk mail centers all over this country when I drove a truck....I haven't recieved a single card offer in the mail in the past 4 months when back then I would average 1-2 a week.

The banks are on the news now, just wait all those cards get called in forcefully in a desparation to keep the issuer afloat.

I am who I am because I heard a call to duty to protect you all, and I answered it. I am a good guy, and the majority of my squadren are the same, they just want to do the right thing and help people. There is no need to fear the government, while once in a while we may be a pain in the ass (trust me ive been there lol) for the most part we are here to help you. Its called "PUBLIC SERVICE" for a reason folks come on now.

just out of curiosity, when people cant afford to buy a loaf of bread to feed their families (yes i know there are those already in that position as things already are) and demand acountability from thoes in office who are supposed to be looking out for them, when they take to the streets in rightous anger which side will you be on?

will you tell him you have to shoot upon him and those who support him in his protest as a "Public Service" (a public service is a service wanted by the "public" not the government.) or will you too demand accountability from your government? because i can tell you the way things are $10 for a loaf of bread could become a reality.

sorry if this comes out sounding a bit harsh it wasnt my intention.

The government needs the people more then the people need the government. More people I believe should look at ways to be self sufficient because Katrina taught us all that the government will just not be there. I think that event convinced a lot of people.

People should realize our dependence on oil is the link between the farm and the grocery store. It's like living pay check to pay check and if that link is broken then all hell can break loose.

People that choose to grow a small garden and prepare themselves for anything that could happen is the right way to go even if nothing happens at all. Trust me when I say, people will loose it if there is no food. My advice is to prepare even if small.

To the OP, I know if you've nticed, but the constitution doesnt work anymore, in its place we have the patriot act, gloabl fascism, and just last week a law was passed that allows the U.S. Gove to spy on all U.S. citizens.

I dont know what cave you've been in since 9/11, but there so me real factual stuff going on if you havent noticed recently, and honestly this post cracks me up.

Cameras in every major city, tazers for no reason sometimes, economy crackin under the pressure, food and gas is sky high.......are you blind and living ina cave?????

I agree that there is a lot of deliberate fear mongering and dooms-day scenarios designed to scare people into submission.
However does that mean we should ignore all of the warnings given by patriots (some now fallen) who years ago were accused of being liars and crazy attention seekers yet these warnings now seem to be coming true (eg RFID chips, suppression of technology such as medical and alternative energy, the collapse of the US economy and Constitution, a New World Order, false flag events, training foreign troops on US soil, DUMBs etc, even the existence of Area 51)? One of the few that has not occured so far is the artificial 'alien threat' scenario.

I truly hope that things do not get worse but being aware and prepared for what may happen is probably not such a bad idea. Certainly economically speaking, things are definitely looking grim.

Yes, this is called public stupidity. Anyone can withdraw their money, online, for free. Although as IndyMac is now the safest bank in the country, people would be stupid to (see first sentence). People know this, but they want to show up at IndyMac to be part of the drama so they can claim "they were there" during a bank failure.

[edit on 15-7-2008 by ALightinDarkness]

When FDIC steps in, anything you have in a single savings acct over 100,000 could be history. They will only insure that amount. There are ways around it... but most banks won't tell you about it. There are many people in California with over that amount and who probably just lost a substantial amount of savings. So yeah, if my bank had closed and FDIC had taken it over 6 months ago, I would have lost 500,000... thank God I read conspiracy boards and found out that I needed to put my money into different accounts. INDYMAC is NOT the safest bank in the country, it's one step away from closing.

You stated that the United States in no way resembles Germany in Hitler's time. I'll direct your attention to Naomi Wolf who spells it out for you step by step.

Now, to the OP...
I understand how you could feel that ATS has lost some of it's shine, it has! But, I believe you go a bit far saying that there will be no uprising in America. It's happening daily, more and more people are opening thier eyes to what is happening in America. Our current President has made it very easy to implement Martial Law in the US... and that in itself is a scary thought. The dollar is dead at this time... basically China and Saudi Arabia are keeping our economy from crashing by buying our debt fiat dollars. I don't believe that US soldiers would be able to handle shooting fellow Americans - but Blackwater, Canadian Soldiers, and Cuban Soldiers will have no problems doing it. Not that it will happen, but it could. I think that American's will uprise, but it may be not enough and a little too late. Unfortunately not everyone sees the signs so for some it will come as a shock should it happen. I just think everyone should be preparing for some bad times ahead. Better to be safe and not have anything happen than to believe nothing is going to happen and then have the SHTF.

edited just to satisfy Majic - is this better?
