Let us mentally file this little gem away for future use. Hope someone dont decide to fly one over the shores of Lake Erie.

Sophistication has in my mind surpassed identification.

EDIT: Thought I'd add the image for flavor...

uhm what the heck is that? Looks like its being held up with strings and looks rather **SNIP** I doubt anyone will be mistaking that for a UFO, unless it can fly at amazing speeds and stop on a dime. uhm nope

Yeah -- it's rather pretty, but it doesn't fly by itself (the original article failed to mention that). In the video, it was probably suspended from a helicopter.

No No No, you have it all wrong! THAT is the new disco ball that SO had installed in his New York Office.

Silly you, but after all who would have ever guessed?

People who see a light in the sky sitting perfectly still will inevitably claim they have seen a "UFO" without batting an eye, never giving it a second thought. How an object acts in the sky is not the only determining factor as to whether or not it is a "UFO".

The ability to identify an object accurately is the key and secondarily whether or not the observer can come to terms as to whether or not humans could be responsible for creating an unusual object they have observed. Personally, I am in the camp that thinks humans are very much capable of creating very extraordinary things a lot of witnesses could be seeing. Maybe not all of them, but a sizable amount of them.

So, IMO, "ghey" or "art", helicopter or not, someone seeing this from the distance could very well go bonkers seeing this in the night sky - they would swear that the helicopter was simply "escorting" the object to its destination simply to rationalize their own desires to believe.

I wonder how many future PSed pictures this will end up in? Other than the artists own, that is...

in the other thread i said

that is so cool looking I'm glad they didn't try to pass it off as real;
it looks very CGI-ish, can't really tell on you tube anymore. a star for you
and this is the response i got lol maybe i should have been more clear,

Does anybody even bother to read threads anymore? The OP said its man made. NOT CGI.

practice what you preach my friend.

True for some people but not all. After all we are here to dispel myths and see things with an open mind and independent thought process and from what I have seen on the forum very few come with their evidence claiming it to be anything, they ask for help deciphering what it could be.

Hi guys, some person sent me this video of that man made half-ass flying saucer. No worries, this thing at close sight makes noise like hell. Now at a distance? I think anyone could probably still hear the helicopter blades.

Ditto. I saw that on edgadget today and was wondering about all the cool 'sightings' that are going to be reported the day it goes public. The Sun and such are going to sell like hot cakes and experts e.g Jamie Mausen and likes would be able to ensure their bread and butter again.

Fortunately for us ATSers, there is no such thing as a UGO (unidentified ground objects), else imagine the hell. All pics have hundreds of blurry dots, don't they.... and also have hundreds of lights if its a night shot.

I hope aliens never land. We may lose sleep debunking every other ground photo.

In relation to the post you quoted, I'm not quite sure what you are trying to say. I DID address/opine re: the helicopter in the post you quoted. Reconfigure me if I'm bent...

I mean I understand that you think that a helicopters presence would soil the salad, so to speak, and keep people from going off the deep end but my point was that those who have heavy preconceptions (a lot of people do) would out of hand go to eye blurring ends to give irrational/fantastical reasons for the helicopter being there, i.e. a military escort or maybe mere coincidence, etc.... we are after all talking about photographs/video -not live sightings.

I'm thinking that video is a fake actually. Ironically enough considering the forum we're in and the fact that this is something obviously man made
