Al-Qaida forces are suspected of being behind an ambush of Algerian security forces that resulted in 43 deaths including 39 members of the
country's security forces.
The attack took place late Saturday night in the Batna region's Aures mountain range in the southeast part of the country about 260 miles form the
capital city of Algiers. An elite paratrooper unit of the Algerian army was the target. www.wnd.com...
I can't help but wonder how Al-Qaida obtained the information that allowed them to deploy in sufficient strength and firepower to engage the Special
Forces and do such damage (internal security leak?).
It will be interesting to see what the Algerian repose to this attack will be.
