From Revelations Chapter 12:
Rev 12:1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve
stars:
Rev 12:6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred [and]
threescore days.
I have wondered about the meaning of this part of the book of revelations for years. It seems to be an original part in Revelations, unlike most of
the other chapters which seem to be copied from Daniel. However, something many people do not know today, is that the Huguenots were a protestant
faith that critizeed the Roman Catholics during the middle ages. This lead to many bloody encounters and also an event known as the
"
St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre".
Many Huguenots fled france to escape persecution and death, and fled to South Africa where they settled. Around 1945 they erected a monument. Take a
look at it:
Huguenot Monument
So did they design this according to scripture, or not? It does seem familiar to Revelations 12 I think. That doesn't make it true ofcourse, but it
certainly does make one wonder abit.
