Cow farts collected in plastic tank for global warming study

Experts said the slow digestive system of cows makes them a key producer of methane, a potent greenhouse gas that gets far less public attention than carbon dioxide.

In a bid to understand the impact of the wind produced by cows on global warming, scientists collected gas from their stomachs in plastic tanks attached to their backs.

The Argentine researchers discovered methane from cows accounts for more than 30 per cent of the country's total greenhouse emissions.

While the story does have some truth to it about methane being worse for the so called global warming that cow looks ridiculous!

Plain madness, I suppose dinosaurs farted themselves out of existence then?

Probably according to some people.

I for one do not believe in the man made "global warming" but I will always listen to what they have to say. And if they keep strapping fart tanks to the backs of cows I think it will just discredit there efforts in the eyes of some people.

I only jumped on here because I was trying to work out how they collected it. I pictured farmers running around the paddock with bags held up to the cows bums. This gadget is brilliant :shk:

I love how the cow looks violated.

This is just plain ridiculous.

To me it seems like someone is trying to pass off the blame to another source besides us.

Also, who has the job of opening up the thing on the cows back Now THATS a bad day at work.
