Has anyone ever thought that if martial law is declared here in the USA that the ATS users will be detained and sent away to concentration type camps like the rest of the "conspiracy theorists" and people the government determines are a threat to itself? I believe that if all the theories are correct and martial law is declared, ATS has got to be near the top of the CIA's list of people to detain or watch closely.

I have a friend who will not even log onto the ATS site because he truly believes that when the crap hits the fan he will be taken. This individual will not use ATS at work, home, friends place, or anywhere. I had thought about this before hearing him say it but to have someone else think the same thing really reaffirmed my belief. I know the CIA or some other agency has got to be wathcing the activity here on ATS and flagging some of the more "threatening" members. What do you think? What will you do in the event this actually happens? They already know where you live, work, and possibly who you associate with. I do believe we are seen as a threat to the new government and we will be dealt with accordingly.

Does anyone else think this as well?

EDIT for spelling

I think some ATS users are spreading some disinformation for them (not on purpose) so in fact, it servers them well.

If anyone from ATS was a serious threat, they would have handled it by now. By letting people spread rumors about space ships and ET's, it's a great cover for their black projects or ships or new technology they are testing.

If you want to stay off the "supposedly red list", just read the forums and don't respond to anything.

All they have to do is "Not Respond" to any conspiracy theory because if they did, it would give validity to the theory. Which in tums leaves everyone t speculate about anything and everything. The more speculation the easier it is for disinformation to spread.

It's a well oil machine you really can't beat. The masses out there turn on news channels and just believe what they're reporting.

We are small potatoes and they have bigger things to do and bigger fish to fry. There is nothing you can do about it anyway, so just sit back and pop some popcorn and enjoy the show.

You're a funny kid. Don't forget these camps are being built in America, not England. If camps sprung up in England, questions would be asked fairly quickly, unlike America, where the only people who seem to know these camps exist are on this site. Most Englishmen wouldn't give a yank their Ham Sandwich, nevermind their freedom.

[edit on 11/7/08 by Liamoville]

Are you HONESTLY trying to say that you don't think your government has camps for insurgents? Hey, maybe it's true they have already successfully neutered you and you act like good little slaves so why would they need it? What are you going to do throw rocks at them?

Furthermore, do you seriously think that the majority of the UK isn't just as dumbed down and sheeple like as the Americans? You have a seriously warped view of the world if that's what your going on about...

Hell you already allowed yourselves, as a people, to get your balls cut off by allowing your guns to be taken away. Why should we think you wouldn't bow down yet again?

Yet again I must ask, do you REALLY think that anything other than questions would be done if you found out about "camps" in your country? That's what I thought.

People will be flocking to the detainment camps.

Remember the Hurricanes?

When you cannot go to the store to buy your food and most people have no more than a months worth or less in their cabinets, and martial law is enacted, people will be standing with their ID's in these lines signing their rights and their lives away for some basic staples.

Most people are not willing or able to be self sufficient, as a matter of fact they will gladly surrender and fill the camps to over load just to survive.

We are looking at a situation where millions will become homeless unexpectedly over night, unprepared for even the basics of survival, they will be dazed and in shock and easily lead into the camps.

Just a few days without water and power can do strange things to people.

And then all the preparedness in the world may not be enough to save yourself either. I am not trying to sound scary, just know that people for the most part enjoy being lead, not many are actual leaders.

When so many things are happening on many different levels and realities, they will do as they are told. They will flock to the camps.

Really I was just speaking my opinion. I think that the English have been the 'guinea pigs' so far for many things to come, before they are implemented anywhere else. Like the cameras that have been put all over the place to make you feel 'safe'.

Typically, I know that the English are just more likely to speak out when upset than Americans. However, I think that Americans are more passive-aggressive. They'll keep in line, keep to themselves until backed into a corner, like a scared animal when the Fight or Flight mentality hits.

I don't really know what the English would do if backed into a corner.

Talking about the topic in general: No, I don't think all ATS users will be detained. We don't really pose that big of a threat.

In any event, if it does happen: they want to take me away? They'll have to pry this mouse from my cold, dead fingers!

not enough people look at this site for us to be any kind of threat imo...

i dont know of any forum where there is enough people to make a difference...plus they have so much control at this point

if it did happen...i will be ready in my next life to exact justice against evil...that would be my next lifes mission

had this thought a few times recently and these are my .02 cents.

I think that yes the powers at hand would look at this site as a resource to see who might be a trouble maker but I highly doubt everyone will be picked up for obvious reasons stated above (like we all do not share the same view etc.)

But I think that there are possibly people who frequent these boards that are probably prime targets. People that have posted threats or statements based on action like, "lets take back the..." or "why dont we just burn it down". This is most likely to be flagged...

another variable to consider is the sphere of influence.

I do not have allot of money im not some string puller in my community or someone that is looked up to as a leader, actually I am not that important or influential. So I doubt I will be "rounded up" and most likely will fall into the other group that someone stated above the group that "doesnt obey".

Sadly though the owners of the site are probably suspect just for the simple reason that they run it, and it could be easily argued that this place breeds dissent and one effective way to send a message out is to round up the "leaders" of the board.

I often wonder what part family connections would play in the deciding of who gets rounded up. George Humphrey is my uncle and I talk to him on the phone frequently so thats probably my golden ticket right there, too bad no oompa loompa and chocolate just wires fence guards and the regret I didnt leave the country.

Do you think that a thread like this would be flagged?

Overthrowing the United States
government

www.abovetopsecret.com...

Maybe we all will not be taken but the author of that thread proabably would.

That thread is really more of a thought exercise than a conspiracy to overthrow the government. It seems to be more about whether people want to change the current government and if so, how and why.

It is an important exercise in order to begin thinking critically about systems of government and politics.

If you were really planning overthrow (and were over the age of 18) you wouldn't do it on a public internet forum. The government knows who the legit threats are and they aren't broadcasting their ideas across the internet.

For instance does anyone believe this is anything but BS?

And if you think it is real, do you think the person who wrote it has been tracked down and locked up, or put on someone's list?

If someone is not violent and is not in open disagreement with the system, like not paying his taxes for example, I doubt anything will happen to him just for a few internet posts. You and I will of course be tracked by intelligence services because of what we post on ATS, but actual physical detention is a whole new ballgame that can only be done in a state of national chaos or with a more solid pretext, which I'm not sure will actually happen. Journalists and bloggers will go first, as will some businessmen and politicians. These will be the warning signs that fascism is already in place.

I'm sure there is a few people trying to make it happen, fascism, there always is a sociopathic elite trying to dominate mankind, I just don't see the people of the world stupid enough to fall for it so soon after WW2, although the world is more opressed due to incrementalist security policies based on the false threat of Islamic terrorism. Let's just see how it plays out.

The key, as always, is to abandon fear and embrace peacefull loving solutions, instead of playing into the ordo ab chaos hegelian dialectic. If people keep the entropy levels low in society, even if there is a fascist structure in place it will have a tough time imposing itself, as it needs an action to react against. Fascism, paradoxically, is a very passive political system, vulnerable to a savvy inteligent population that knows how to work around it without actually challenging it. If it does happen, wait it out, as the armed forces who are today the opressors inevitably end up toppling the regimes they serve because it's a #ty job and nobody wants to do it.

What I fear in the US's case is that there is much educational collapse and cultural entropy, which could make the case for a fascist cycle lasting longer than it otherwise would in a country with slightly higher education levels and less of a gung ho hollywood action movie culture. But there are many smart people too, and once the # hits the fan the morons are going to be looking for guidance.

If everyone stays calm the US may get out of this bumpy bit of history with minor damage, which would be good for everyone. And perhaps the lessons learned would result in a quieter, more peacefull, smarter America?

Hahahaha no doubt that'd be the most ridiculous thing ever, because it makes perfect sense why that would ever happen even in a hypothetical situation.

uh....yeah. but the entire US will become a 'camp.' and if they come for you in the night, don't go. fight. you're going to die anyway. would suck big time if this country goes that way.

this site is monitored by some low pay guys lokced in a basement, just as is every website of significance (cnn.com. msnbc.com, etc). hell, it could be run from the NSA for all i know. do they know about you? yes. do they care? no. conspiracy helps keep everybody off balance.

I think a mental asylum would be a better choice of detention for the ATS crackpots, saying that though what would it take for the ATS lot to sell the database complete with IP addresses and preferred writers lists???? One dollar? Maybe two?

Until the government can prove beyond a doubt that a physical human matches the IP address used, I don't see this happening.

As well, is all over the world. It would take a huge concerted effort to locate every single ATS member in the states and target them for the specific reason of being an ATS member.

Your friend, in my opinion, is baselessly concerned.

IPs can easily be matched to a household unless you go pooling and stealing wireless (which may give you a head start) although the government could know all your moves if they wanted to. I find it pleasing and fascinating that governments can eavesdrop on us so easily, although the whole listening to the vibrations on a window with a laser to see what your saying is fantastic, anywho I do think that a rather large portion of the population could be detained easily with some well scripted news reports... hey it's not the government's fault that you guys all contracted a deadly virus and needed QUARANTINE!!!!!!!!!

We good old boys in the UK cannot even house 80k of prisoners, cell is to cramped, can only have two players per cell on the the PS2, my mommy wants to stay overnight yadda yadda yadda.

If any UK gov wanted to build FEMA style camps over here it would take until 2112 before they was completed, red tape, another term in office, green taxes, road tax, fuel tax, you name it, they would all come before internment camps.

So any new age sage's got any news on 2112 ???
