How do I do a "write it" when my voting is done on an electronic machine?
Everything I've voted on was done in a firestation on a machine.

If you are in the USA perhaps you need to demand a paper ballot?

Also if you are in the USA, you could also contact your local elections commissioners (by whatever name or designation) and ask them how it is done in your locality. If they tell you it cannot be done, you know they are lying and will need to dig deeper.

Also, you may need to organise a group of people who intend to write in a candidate (and bang pots and drums till you get it worked out.)

Unless the candidate requests in writing that they wish their write in votes counted, they are thrown out in most states.

So it requires a formal campaign, the people cannot spontaneously write in someone and have them win. We wouldn't want that now would we?

What would happen to the two party system?
