British, US crystal skulls fake, scientists say

Topic started on 9-7-2008 @ 05:31 PM by alienstar

Appears 3 of these skulls are fakies.LOL oh wow no doubt. So that would probably make them all fake.

How about this for the next instalment of the Indy franchise: Indiana Jones and the Dodgy Antiques Dealer?

Less than three months after the Quai Branly Museum in Paris discovered that a crystal skull once proclaimed as a mystical Aztec masterpiece was a fake, it is now the turn of the British Museum and the Smithsonian Institution to find they were victims of skull-duggery.

Ah fakes

I predict that true believers will ignore this and continue to believe - probably just a little bit more - so as to keep the unwelcome news at bay.

Howdy CC

Belief is always good, dissent is very good but denialism is bad

Fakes or not, the Smithsonian is going to get a lot of money out of them. I always thought they were made in the 19th Century and never really read up on the crystal skulls. I do think they are very beautiful and interesting no matter who made them. A good conversation piece, like my grandfather's skull mug (it was glass).
