Iran missile test 'provocative'

news.bbc.co.uk

The US and Israel have condemned Iran after it test-fired a long range missile capable of reaching Israel.

Iran state media said nine missiles were tested in total, including a new Shahab-3, with a range of 2,000km (1,240 miles).

Iran has tested the missile before, but the latest launch comes amid rising tensions with the US and Israel over the country's nuclear programme.

US Under-secretary of State William Burns said the test was "provocative".

He told a Congressional hearing: "We view force as an option that is on the table but a last resort.

Is this the beginning of the end?

We all know not to trust the BBC, with the whole airing of the WTC7 before it collapsed.......

Wouldn't a missle test be kept secret?

Does the video footage show a staged launch?

Would the excuse this time be the protection of Israel?

All this is far too convenient....Anyone that wants to attack Iran would have a reason now.....

I have an overwhelming feeling that this right here is the beginning of a war with IRAN!

Hold on to your hats people!

Isn't it amusing that the US/Israel call these tests provocative, yet they don't seem to mind conducting their own war games off the coast of Iran or having dry runs for bombing Iranian reactors?

Talk about hypocrisy!

What?

If you bothered to look into this, you'd find it was Reuters fault for sending out the info that WTC7 had collapsed when it didn't. every news outlet in the world ran the story, then pulled it when they realised it hadn't.

The reporter was cut off in mid broadcast because a mechanical timer on the satellite feed system ran out, ending the broadcast early.

If you want to blame anyone or look for a conspiracy, blame Reuters!

Anyhoo, back to the topic...

No it wasn't staged. They tested their rockets. And no, missile tests are rarely secret these days.

Your absolutely right about that!

I was thinking the same thing.

If this were real.......I would probably have to say "Iran NUCLEAR MISSILE TESTS ARE INCREDIBLY FRIGHTENING: IS THIS ARMAGEDDON?

Seriously who do they think they are kidding?

Oh that's right, us

Yeah I find it extremely amusing, I could just imagine Iran/Russia performing war games off of the California coast and or Virginia Coast. The US would be doing far more than testing missiles.

TOTALLY.. Couldn't agree more..

I'm sure if positions were reversed and a large Iranian fleet was on maneuvers around th US coast..
..America would just go about their daily business unperturbed..

How is their testing of equipment any different to ours..or the U.S?

I'm pretty sure if someone was standing in front of me practicing punches to my face I'd start doing exactly the same back..Especially considering past 'accuracy'.

Hell Kdail..

Note to self.. must type faster.

I take all MSM with a pinch of salt, but the BBC is one of the better outlets. They try to remain balanced in their views and to be honest, when it comes to ME affairs, they are probably the best MSM outlet if you want to know whats going on.

Iran doesn't need to launch any missiles to hurt the US. All they need to do is talk about it and oil prices spike which is like kicking the USA in the nads without having to get your foot dirty. And you can't blame the Iranians for this. The whole hysteria was whipped-up by GWB & Company. My hunch is they (Bush et al) are using the whole Iranian 'situation' to drive up oil prices so that the inner circle can continue to reap the huge profits.
