Why am I so jaded? Because at the bottom line the world isn't fair, it's just one big circus, a giant cluster F*(@. Stupid people get wealthy, good people get poor, and worse.

If your mentality is that life isn't fair, and that I should deal with it, then please don't bother responding, I really don't care to read what you have to say.

We are not meant to be happy or rich.
What gave you the impression we are?

What is it all anyway, Being stick thin with a Rolls in the driveway?

Yes, you can pretend to be happy all the time,
as well as convince yourself your sadness is neverending.
Pretending is not real though.
Life is a range of emotions and intelligence.
That reach different levels through all of our lives.
Many different perspectives will force us to change and grow.
The death of a child, a partner, a parent.
Lost loves and health...are all contributing factors.

If you hate everything, you are clinically depressed,
and need to deal with that.

And I don't believe I ever said that everyone is or will end up unhappy. I simply said that the universe invariably throws us curve balls. Time and time again. And I stand by that statement.

Thanks for your kind wishes. They are appreciated. I guess the biggest trick is figuring out what's a want and what's a need. I'd call love and affection a need, but I'm sure lots would call it a want. Maybe that's where I'm getting hung up.

i really like being outside because nature is so cool!
i i think to myself how plants work... no clue its so interesting though.
i also wonder what animals are thinking when i see them doing different things.

gettng stuck in an angry mindset can happen, as everyone else thats posted has said. for me i end up finding some eastern / spiritual / meditation video or article on the internet that gets me really excited about being alive.

im at the point now where i appreciate things alot, especially my own life.
just switch up your routine.
do you do the same thing every day? try something new. go visit some place in your community. go walk around outside for a while.
finding the stimuli that will change your thoughts / perceptions of things is the key.
um.. if u want you could take a drive out to illinois and we could chillax.... and do alot of drugs if your into that

Ajax, I think your insights into "life" are accurate. You sound like Sartre or the Buddha. The only difference between you and them is they didn't stop with those insights. They looked for another way, within the ordinary way that we all follow. Have you tried that?

You sort of described how I think, to a certain extent.

While I don't "hate" life, I see it as ultimately pointless; all life is basically pointless.

You can see it easier if you look at bees or ants...

Huge societies based on eating, and breeding, to ensure there will be more generations to do it... and for what? so some animal higher up in the food chain can do the same.

And really, there's no point. Obviously you could argue that there's the search for knowledge, but if the right people aren't interested in furthering it then that becomes pointless too :S

You are absolutely right - the world we live in does suck! I have witnessed people that lie, steal and cheat get ahead - and they do it without any thought or concern - while the honest, hardworking person gets trampled on and taken advantage of by the deceivers of the earth!

It is all a big waste of time - work 20 years doing something and then the technology changes and all that you have spent your time on - is not useless to society - and we are suppossed to be OK with that?
