Nice hint. What does their communication sound like? Actual voices?

OK I have astrange one for you. 4 or 5 months ago I was woken by a gentle voice telling me it was time to get up. I opened my eyes and 2 or three seconds later my alarm went off. That was strange enough, but then I realized that the voice had not been English, and yet I had understood it.

Yes, this has been going on for some time and even to my surprise...even to me. Here's the ATS Link

The tone is like a whisper into my ears, audible not in the waking-state but in a half-sleep state.

I heard practically the same tone....it was a soft female voice, almost like...part of a song(?) is the best way I can describe it. However it happened when I had my earplugs in. Very Odd indeed. In thinking about it logically....the voice had to have been projected to me in my sub-conscience.. maybe.. ??

Recently I was scheduled to catch a flight in the morning. I was awoken by a voice whispering my name in a most pleasant way.

This is not the first time this is happened to me. Everytime it does happen it happens in the context of me needing to wake up in the morning. It often happens when I forgot to set my alarm clock.

Its nothing psychotic like being terrorized by voices but a pleasant, gentle, slightly humorous tone which calls me by the name I had in my childhood (a short version of my name). The tone is like a whisper into my ears, audible not in the waking-state but in a half-sleep state.

Ive noticed if I dont respond to it and instead go back to deep sleep, phones start ringing, people start calling or some other noise starts up.

In all instances it turned out that waking up at the time I was woken up by that whisper was helpful or beneficial and that something would have gone downhill had I not woken up at that time.

Because of the benevolent nature of these whispers I conclude that its "someone" watching over me, my higher self or some aspect of myself for example.

Anyone experience something similar?

Hi Skyfloating,

This might be a bit off topic, but epsilon waves and hyper gamma waves are a new type of brain wave, at least thats how science describes it.

NEW BRAINWAVES

EEG researchers such as Jeffrey D. Thompson, D.C., B.F.A, from the Center for Neuroacoustic Research in Encinitas, Ca., are noticing extremely high brainwave frequencies above Gamma, which they have titled Hyper Gamma brainwaves (at 100 cps), as well as even higher brainwaves titled Lambda brainwaves (at 200 cps). Conversely, extremely low brainwaves, which are lower than Delta waves at less than 0.5 cps, have also been discovered. These brainwaves are titled Epsilon Brainwaves. (For more about this, see “Epsilon, Gamma, Hyper Gamma and Lambda Brainwave Activity and Ecstatic States of Consciousness,” by Jeffrey Thompson, D.C., B.F.A.; © 1999

Epsilon Consciousness is thought to be the state yogis go into when they achieve suspended animation. While in this state, western medical doctors can detect no heartbeat, respiration, or pulse. Hyper Gamma and Lambda states of consciousness are the states associated with the ability of certain sects of Tibetan monks in the Himalayan Mountains to meditate while sitting directly on the snow in sub-zero temperatures and, despite wearing scanty clothing, melt the snow around them.

All three of these newly discovered brainwaves (Hyper Gamma, Lambda, and Epsilon) are associated with higher states of SELF-awareness, the ability to access superior levels of information and insight, psychic abilities, and out-of-body experiences. Theta and Gamma rhythms also interact with these new brainwave patterns to assist in the brain’s holographic packaging of information into coherent images, thoughts, and memories.

Back on topic, I too have had similar experiences just before I wake. Recently I heard someone say (female) "Hi, can you hear me... are you there" I thought it was my answer phone so I woke up. No voice messages on my answer phone or my mobile phone.

I do listen to a mixture of different waves before I sleep each night and I do think theta waves hold the answers to many different topics we discuss here at ATS, sorry going off topic again.

If anyone has anymore info regarding epsilon waves or hyper gamma waves then please let me know either on the boards or via U2U.

Cheers,

JQ.

Yes. Actual voices. They seem to be a little above a whisper but once in a while they are quite loud as if standing next to me. I am not asleep or just waking as some have stated. I usually sit or lie back and concentrate on radiating love. Starting with grounding myself to mother earth and pulling in love then expressing that out. Surrounding myself with light/love then radiating the same.

Two friends wanted to try this with me so we did but they said they did not feel anything after about 5 minutes but then they both said a song kept coming into their heads, "Love will find a way" for one and(may not be the title) and "All you need is love" for the other. I thought that was odd. I also had a song bouncing around before we started talking but it wasnt either of those and I can't remember it but it was a love song.

The stuff on states other than the usual threesome alpha-theta-delta is new to me. Thanks.

Im pretty certain extraordinary abilities and perceptions are linked to half-sleep states. As one poster mentioned you´re half-here, half-there.

Id guess communication attempts are there but we rarely notice them.

Skyfloating, I believe I know what you're talking about.

Some months ago I was waking up with words/messages in my head, just waking up with a few words, that seemed important.. but i'm just explaining that I've woken up to messages, particularly around time of my "spiritual awakening".

One night several months ago, almost a year now maybe.. I actually was convinced my house was maybe haunted, as I had just moved in and felt like I was being watched for a while. It was also around this time where I went to bed and as I was almost asleep, like in theta mode...not quite concious but not really there yet... a man's voice that I did not recognise very casually said my name. Perhaps to get my attention, perhaps this person was in the astral realm waiting for me to fall to sleep to speak to me? Or perhaps there is something else all together.

Past Life perhaps?

I once had this dream while I was taking a nap in study hall. I had my head on my folded arms and was dozing- it was like someone walked up behind me, leaned over, and spoke to me softly in my ear, as if to be discreet. The thing is, it was my own voice, speaking in French. I dont know French either- diable?

Yes.

A long time ago, at the end of the summer that I started what I'd call »advanced meditation« - spontaneously, without knowing that's what it was – I was in bed one night drifting off to sleep when I heard a distinctly audible voice calling out my name from one of the bedroom doors.
As I said, I was drifting off, but I was not yet asleep; more to the point, I immediately turned around and looked towards the door where I heard it coming from. (I am insisting on this detail because immediate identification of an exact location is uncharacteristic of dreams – but I wasn't dreaming anyway.)

Needless to say, there was nobody on the doorstep (or in the apartment, for that matter).

It was a soft, young, very gentle and kind female voice. And there was no special »urgency« in it. If anything, there was an element of playfulness to it; or just calling for attention.

I have the suspicion – just a suspicion, I am not sure at all – that it was my own voice. Not that I called myself, but that the entity, whatever it was, was a projection of myself.
The reason why I have that suspicion is something that happened a few evenings later. I don't want to go into details because it's not really relevant here - plus I don't have much time here for long dissertations. Suffice it to say that I suddenly opened my eyes, and there was... something hovering above me. I blinked, and it was gone.

So, on the advice of someone whom I thought knowledgeable, I stopped »feeding« it, whatever it was. In practice, that meant stopping my practices. (Today, I am not so sure I did the right thing.) Sure enough, »it«, if there was an »it«, soon died of malnutrition.

Then, a few years ago, one late night when I was returning from an award ceremony (it may be relevant that I was the recipient), again I heard a gentle, female voice calling my name from what seemed the trees and greenery around the houses where I was walking. It was so distinct and unambiguous – and everything was so quiet – that I actually stopped, trying to see in the dark, and called out: »Where are you?« (trying to sound as if I had recognised the voice – because »she« sure sounded as though she knew me). No answer. I stood there for almost a minute, but the voice didn't call again. And nothing seemed to move.

Now, I suppose it is possible that somebody had seen me walk by (even though it was very dark, and lush trees were all around) and called out just for the heck of it.

Still, I thought I should mention it – especially because the voice was very similar to the first one, many years earlier.

On the other hand, unexpected voices in the night are probably bound to sound similar...

Hi, just wanted to tell you about my experience.......

I was staying at my husbands, parents house with my hubby and kids. Now his parents had this house but they also bought the one next door because they fostered children at the time and needed the extra room.
The funny thing is the first house was always warm and cosy but the other house was freezing cold and you could feel cold draughts (even in the middle of the rooms) basically the house gave me the creeps to begin with when they first bought it and i didnt feel comfortable being in it.

So here goes...... My husband and me are having an normal evening just watching telly, chatting, the kid's are in bed and we are relaxing ( as much as you can relax in a house that spooks you out!! ) anyway, it's late about 3am, so we decide to go to bed. We are in bed and because it takes me a while to get to sleep ( anything from half an hour to 3 hours ) im lying listening to my hubby as he drifts off after about 5 minutes.

I must admit im the sort of person who does not like to think about ghost's and the spiritworld but on the same hand, i believe they exist, i suppose it scare's me......
So im lying in bed trying to go to sleep but im overcome with fear, probably because im overtired and creeped out. I have the bed-covers up over my face and im really warm, just wanting to go to sleep. Then suddenly, out of nowhere this voice says my name, twice!! I really freaked but just lay there for a moment, telling myself this isnt happening but it really did!!

It, ( the voice ) was a male voice and the tone was like a hushed whisper but at the same time sounded loud and like it could have come from any direction!?

There was no aggression in the voice, yet i was even more freaked out than ever before in this house. I awoke my husband to tell him and in his sleepy state he thought that i was saying there was someone in the house and he jumped up and went to run around the house as if to find an intruder. At this point i was crying and shouting him to come to me, so i could explain to him why i was scared.

Anyway i feel you get the gist...i couldnt sleep for the rest of the night and my hubby was quite p****d off as id interrupted his! lol It took him a while to calm me down, quite embarrasing actually because im not too easily scared as a person in general.

I was definately Awake when this happened, its not very often me and hubby talk about it ( ive gone all cold now bbbrrrrrrr! ) but its just mind-boggling and i have no explanation??? Oh and by the way, his parent's sold the house, god, i was glad to see last of whatever it was in that house!!!
