New Zealand rugby fans watching a regular sports programme found themselves viewing hardcore pornography instead on Sunday afternoon.

Four minutes of pornography interrupted sports coverage on the Prime Television channel, after what a spokesman described as a distribution mix up. The pornographic footage was meant for an adult pay-per-view channel. Instead, it found its way onto a regular free-to-air programme called "Grassroots Rugby".

Rival television channels reported that some viewers were angry about the broadcast, which may have been seen by children. BBC Article

i thought that was funny, im not sure if there are any penalties for such a stupid error, but im wondering if anyone watched that. its absurd and hilarious, one minute u watching good old rugby- people wrestling to the ground chasing the ball, the next minute you watching a totally different kind of sport lol.

Well, if they're the same as the cable companies here everyone will get charged for those 4 minutes. Unfortunately that isn't a joke.

That's funny. I bet there were more than a few parents that had some explaining to do with their children.
Course it's alright to watch a game of rugby where the guys are practically killing each other...

but kids probably dont watch rugby, not young ones anyway. and i thught 4 minutes was kind of alot if u think about it, how come they havent cut to commercials or pulled the plug. so you want to tell me that no one at the station noticed that something was wrong? so they thought everything was at tip top shape and they dont need to monitor anything now. i bet they got bored from rugby the same way i do.

personally i think violence on TV is much more harmful if you think about it really. whatever kids glimpsed at they probably have forgotten it by now, but it rather depends on the kind of scenes viewed.
if i know anything about porn then i bet that since this was a distribution error then those 4 minutes were from the beginning of the movie, you know the part where pornstars try to act, so people probably just watched a tease or boring dialogue that doesnt make sense that leads to the actual sex. who knows.

Putting on my newest conspiracy hat: I'll venture they TPTB were fishing to see who would complain so as to put their names on the list of the first ones to arrest when the NWO interrupts regularly playing reality all over the globe.

That does seem a bit odd. Stuff-ups I've seen in the past never went for that long.
