i think improved universal communication is what needs to be worked on here.

yea sneaking around in the night is not a good start. why *SNIP*does this whole world seem to be so layered and laybriynthed. cant people just tell the TRUTH. its not so hard.

and watch some project camelot interviews, stop spreading hate. be kind. im trying, and yea its hard. but its the only way we gonna make this work.

I don't know about you welcoming a second coming the same way because if this fish dude is crazy enough to return he won't be alone and he has seen what you can do so don't think for a minute that it will be that easy.

So he was checking out your wife......and you leaped across the bed in a flash and stabbed him in the eye. Just trying to picture the maneuver...seems like a tough move.

Fish dude must be quite slow. I dont think anybody cold leap out of bed to stab me in the eye. Was he like looking away for a second or something.

Youd think they could sense if we are awake or some kind of psychic sense.

You know, I am not any part of what that was. You know why ? both my eyes still work fine thanks.

Spreading hate ? errr this thing came into my house, uninvited and started thinking it had rights to do what it wanted ?

I really am not going to be all tree friendly with it, period. Nor would I be friendly to a human in that situation.

I was wondering, what would make you, and/or your family, a candidate for visitation from an advanced sea-being? Do you or your wife or child contain a special ability, have a rare disease, job that could somehow pertain to the fish creature, etc.? Or maybe your house was just random or on a list.

Read what i posted. It leant over, I grabbed and pulled it down stabbing it in the eye.

never did i ever say i leapt out of bed, not once. Twisting it to fit your comprehension is not a correct thing to do. Re-read what i wrote please next time.

I have no idea at all. None what so ever.

Apart from seeing those black triangles we are just an ordinary couple and a small baby girl.

No special 'special' abilities to note - Jobs in health care, so your guess is as good as mine really.

Who would go back to sleep after something like this happened.

Dan, I've just read the entire thread, and first I want to commend you on having the sand to post it publicly. Yours is an amazing story, and like the previous poster, I also looked closely at the similarities and differences in yours and your wife's writing. That sort of thing is difficult to fake, IMO. I find that I believe you. You had a very visceral reaction to a clear endangerment of your family IN YOUR HOME, at night. I personally would not consider any creature to be benevolent that came in the still of night and was seen leaning over my wife. She would react the same or similar toward a threat against me.

I think until a person has been in that position, it's impossible to speculate as to their reactions.

Now. I was struck with a couple of notions. These aren't necessarily my beliefs, just speculation, but they "feel" consistent.

I would guess that you lock everything up tightly at night before bed, and have been doing so for a long time.

Have you any memories of frightening encounters as a child?

Was it a normal thing for you to walk in the woods? I recognize that you saw an object and you went there to investigate, but was that a normal thing for you to do?

Did your wife turn on the light as you were struggling with the creature?

One last question: I understand that your rage was the primary emotion you felt at the time of the encounter; Looking back on it, do you have any sense of familiarity about the creature? I think it might explain a lot of things -- something that on one level or another you've always known about? I've suspected for some time that possibly the very presence of some of the "others" produced a very visceral reaction in humans, perhaps akin to a cellular memory of sorts.

Much respect. I can't say I'll enjoy reading more about this, as I really relate to your state of mind, and it was a harrowing event. I can say I'm very interested in watching and contributing to the investigation.

Oh, and ...... to those that wonder why a man wouldn't completely upend their whole lives, jobs, privacy, intercommunity relationships, and family for the joy of being villified in the media, just stop and THINK for a moment. People that come forward are forever changed by the event, which the media then reward by making them a sideshow for as long as they can milk the ratings. It's about the safety and sanctity of their families.

I don't think you did anything wrong in iniciating your attack but at some point did it ever cross your mind to just detain him instead of deciding to go for the kill blow? From what I can tell, you were obviously more powerful than this being and it didn't seem to have a chance at getting the upper hand, maybe a choke hold then drag it outside and tie it up. Man that would of been cool if you did that. Oh well, despite what some say, you did very well in the heat of the moment to insure maximum survival.

How the hell did I get to sleep ? how did my wife get to sleep ? its not sane nor rational as i stated in the thread. thats bugging me alot too.

Every time I been in a violent situation and have had large adrenalin jolts i had the shakes and jabbering talkative mouth for hours.

This time i just went nice and calm back to bed. We both did.
