How can we blame the American people who, unbeknown to them (metaphorically speaking) had their newspapers replace ideologically crafted propaganda
and indoctrination booklets?
It is only recently that we have begun to cultivate a culture of inquiry into the motivations and actions of our leaders. For the most part, it
wasn't until the relatively recent machinations of the neocons that the national direction became evident.
I disagree that their ire would be directed at the population of the country as much as those who disregarded their oaths of office for political and
personal reasons. What kind of mentality can rationalize away an oath to 'defend' the Constitution? These are the people we have been 'tricked'
into admiring and respecting.
Nevertheless, I suspect at least a handful of our founding fathers would be considering open revolt. The only problem is that America can't imagine
living without the materialistic and 'consumer' icons they have come to worship - or so they are being conditioned by the media drug.
