won't show the tapes from the attack at the pentagon? That place has to be the one of the most security camera guarded places on earth so the footage has to be there, they went around and collected all of the footage from any surrounding buidlings in the area that might have captured the attack and they won't show any of it.

Why would they not show it, if it only shows what they say happened? It can't be for security or anything top secret, they already told us a plane hit the place and we already know they have security cameras everywheres, so they aren't giving any secrets away by showing what happened, yet they refuse to show the tapes.

If a crime happened in front of a camera and someone refused to produce the tapes, would you think they were trying to hide something?

In a court of law anywhere that would point to guilt, any reasonable person would have to wonder why the tapes were not going to be shown if they only proved the story they were telling of what happened. Any reasonable person would have to assume that the party refusing to show the tapes were doing so to hide something that does not go with the story they are telling.

So I ask, if anyone has a good explanation of why they will not show the tapes?

This has racked my brains "why won't they release the videos?"

Perhaps the government did do it, and some of the videos show a "smoking gun" of some sort. Imagine that stuff got leaked and showed the flyover theory. Man that would be insane.

Hi there,

You may be interested in a short DVD entitled "911 In Plane Site" which is a documentary detailing how the pentagon was hit by a missile, not a plane.

There appears to be no wreckage of a plane (mind you when a plane goes down it can be pretty much unrecognisable!!) However, the hole in the pentagon appears to be too small for a passenger plane and considering the potential damage to be caused by the wingspan, it doesn't appear that the thing that hit the pentagon had wings at all.

Anyway, I won't spoil the fun. Heres the link if you want to view the DVD.

Kind regards

Dobbie

Some of the tapes were not released because they were being used in a trial:

The Pentagon refused to release the video because it was part of the investigation involving al-Qaeda plotter Zacarias Moussaoui....

Washington agreed to release the video after a court sentenced Moussaoui to life in jail for his role in 9/11 earlier this month, a Judicial Watch spokeswoman told the BBC.

Wreckage outside building

Piece of landing gear at C Ring wall

Impact hole - plane slammed into Pentagon at ground level, wing hit first
floor - hole size about 80 feet (distance between jet engines), fuselage at
second floor - hole size about 20 feet

Plenty of aircraft debris, also how come the bodies of the hijackers/
passengers were recovered from the Pentagon?

Because unlike many civilian locations Pentagon has a large guard force
and doesn't depend on cameras - has guards patroling on foot/vehicles
the perimeters.

"Why isn't there more video? Without telling too much of what I know of Pentagon security, you would be surprised how few cameras there are outside the building. Humans actively patrolling a building's perimeter are a tad more effective than dozens of monitors which may or may not be watched at any given moment."

fifty-six (56) of these videotapes did not show either the Pentagon building, the Pentagon crash site, or the impact of Flight 77 into the Pentagon.....I personally reviewed the remaining twenty-nine (29) videotapes. I determined that sixteen (16) of these video tapes did not show the Pentagon crash site and did not show the impact of Flight 77 into the Pentagon.....Out of the remaining thirteen (13) videotapes, which did show the Pentagon crash site, twelve (12) videotapes only showed the Pentagon after. I determined that only one videotape showed the impact of Flight 77 into the Pentagon on September 11, 2001

Thats actually not true, some of the tapes were being held due to a 'trial' and when the trial was over they still not FIOA'd upon request, and they were no longer cited as evidence in an ongoing trial. I had a thread about that about a year ago here.

...well now that trial is over, could we see the tapes (please)?

The tapes were never released because they don't show an aircraft but something else (or nothing at all - we likely will never know what they show). Simple, really.

It is known however that the people who worked for the places the tapes were seized from were told not to speak to anyone about what they'd see.
