i agree one hundred percent...something needs to be done and soon before we have a nuclear war with iran...but even without that...things are ridiculous right now...people don't realize how much of our freedoms we have lost in the past few years without even knowing it...every level of authority in america is corrupt and to be blunt, #ed up. We the people need to take back power from the fascist regimes that rule us. but as how to do that????i have no f'in clue...your first option i guess would be diplomacy...but i don't see getting enough people together to change the massess mind, and without them the folk in charge won't listen....then the only other option is voilent revolution and that would be subdued rather hastily...so as to how...i don't know...but something has to be done somehow...

I am not sure if this has been said before:

You want to change your country ... then vote ... actually get off your arses and vote ... I say that with the utmost respect as the vast majority of my family are yanks.

Don't vote Dem or Reb ...

Vote for an independent presidential candidate.

Express your feelings in terms they will listen too.

If there was a campaign to encourage voting for, say, The Green presidential candidate or the Party for Socialism and Liberation and that campaign managed 20% of the vote, the government would have to listen

If an third party candidate ever won ... well ...

That would wake the government up.

Ok .. now a question ... is this a possibility??

You know this strike thing could work. If it were to be conducted in the right way logistically, it would get the attention of the whole world in a matter of hours. One rep speaking for the bunch. The people simply asking for questions to answers that are not being given.

This economy will fail in less than 12 months at these current fuel prices. The average person cannot afford to pay these kind of prices.

The average person in this country makes up about 80 percent of the population, the other 19 % is right now buying just enough gas per day to get them through it. The last 1% of the country's poplation, well I don't think I need to tell you about their financial situation. They can afford it.

What are your thoughts on a nation wide strike on the roadways?

Eye of Eagle

I'm with you on this eagle. The biggest problem is getting everyone on the same page AND sticking to the plan for as long as it takes. That is hard because the government might be able to hold out longer than the people, but I do think the truckers MAKE america. In fact I just said this a few days ago in one of my other posts. I think it's total BS that diesel fuel all of the sudden is 20-30% HIGHER than the highest grade unleaded, when it used to be 10-20% cheaper than the CHEAPEST unleaded.

What would one do if it were discovered that at a certian time votes no longer counted and presidential canidates were allready chosen.
Lets say voting was a show to make a country feel like it was still in control
when in actuality the winner was predesignated.

Then voting would mean nothing. This is a topic that has come up under the guise of miscounts in previous elections when the ultimate tabulation didnt seem to make sense.

Once a people in power have had power long enough they learn to play the game very well as history has shown time and time again. It becomes increasingly easy to pull the wool over the peoples eyes to effect change thats most expedient for the corrupt individuals in charge. Simply put there is money to be had so if you can get away with curruption why not do it?
I honestly dont know what makes americans think that thier government is standing so firm and unshakable upon the ROCK OF DEMOCRACY.
The funny thing is history has also shown that everytime their is misconduct in governments people stay in a constant state of denial until its to late to do anything about it.

Can I assume that you are emplying that the president makes no choices what so ever save for the trivial?
I honestly think the president is educated enough with in His or her position to safely secure and ratify harmful treaties, executive orders, laws, and whatever his power grants.
I also believe that his minions AKA "advisors" are allways whispering into his ear making plans that he is on board with and never even new it.

When you make a statement like that you make it seem as though the president is some poor helpless shmo that has no idea what the hell he is doing. In the case of George W. Bush I would safely agree.

But in reality I am pretty certian he is educated enough to cause his fare share of turmoil for the country, and in many cases potentially instigated disasterous decisions all by his little lonesome.

Yes, the president has great power, should he decide to use it. The current president doesn't use it, at least not his own will. He listens to those little birdies. Even if he does make choices, my belief is that those birdies told him to do it. Sure, maybe he's in on it, but the mention of killing a president, like the other poster said is simply wrong. Maybe, just maybe this would have been the right decision back in 1940 to get rid of Hitler, but my opinion is that Hitler was making the decisions and he was a rather smart guy. I can't say the same for our current pres and I think most americans will agree, even if they like him!

Thanks for the reply. I hope America can overcome it's obstacles as I love my country and would like to continue to live here. If America continues to just get worse and worse, well, I may look elsewhere. Some may say it's unpatriotic, but if your country has changed from what it used to be and isn't getting better, why stand up for it and stay when you could be happier elsewhere. That being said, I will still give it some time since enough Americans are getting tired and scared and just might take action one day.

Well I used to be hard line patriotic when it came to america.
I was your typical flag waving, tears streaming down my face, Im gonna whup some enemy ass Patriot! I was in the US ARMY, did my time, traveled around the world. Told to do stupid things, did them anyway.
Left the military moved to south east Asia lived where I lived for 15 years.
I can honestly say that I had far more freedom there then I ever had here.
So much so that i can not call America my home, I find it hard to adjust over here and I get very very angry at the politcal BS that we go through.
Im sick and tired of seeing these old ass white haird black suite red tie MOFOs playing thier little games as world police.
Terrorism;...well I can understand.
I would never hurt innocent americans, and i can say I probably wouldnt hurt innocent politicians either.

But if your not innocent then there is a price to be paid and someone is going to collect the debt owed to them.
politicians arent the only ones who can play the game.
Impose upon me to suffer their injustice? I dont FREAKIN think so.
I have very strong feelings about being oppressed and I would rather be dead than to have some puppet enforce yet another law by which I am to be subservient.
This country needs an enema!

It is sad and pathetic knowing that the US Dollar will be crash, the economy will implode, our enemies like China, Russia and the Muslim Countries will do everything they can to push us further down the tubes and most of you clerks will be chipped and fall into line just to feel safe and survive. Even mother nature has turned on you and when you pray to God, he does not just not listen, he pours a little ore retribution your way. Dires, Floods....earthquakes and droughts...take your pick, it is not coming someday, he is all here and upon you now. I say "You" because me and mine never claimed you to start with but also because we have been preparing for years ad are safe for you and those who will feed on you, and ironically, everything we have grows in value the worse things get. It is all going to break and term Made In America is going to have a new meanng since none of you make much.

I am a bit ashamed to admit it, but I am seriously enjoying what is happening...the lies and false pride and lies are all coming home to roost.

What do you think is happening now? Very powerful men $$$$ are overthrowing it as we speak...the more outrageous acts they commit the more they convince you to help them to overthrow it. Many Americans are at the boiling point about now.

The state of US politics and abuse of power is evident to the entire world and one can marvel at how few demons can rule over so many good people.
Before you plan any form of overthrow I believe that all citizens need to be aware of the reality of the situation, so I'd begin with the suggestion made earlier that you do whatever you can to inform people however you can. Graffiti, play DVD's, radio programs, print leaflets, pay for advertising space to inform of abuses, discuss with those you meet, wear t-shirts with appropriate messages etcetera.
At the same time you need to begin to envision how you would like your country to be and how you would like to live. What role should a government play.... How best to form government based on high ideals...
Imagine a government led by people who are incorruptible..people of true wisdom whom all can respect and trust. Would you prefer a country whose aim is for the highest happiness achievable for all... a country which can stand alone without any dependence on any other nation, fully self sustaining (opposite of NWO goals)....
Violence will not be the answer to America's dilemma, but a general strike at a later date could well accomplish the changes you need.

People voted the democrats into office because they said they were going to get us out of Iraq. Did they? No. Since they didn't, you can see how effective voting actually is.

May I advise people not to debate with lightinthedarkness as it will prove fruitless to establish a point. The individual is a machine, a computer of over complicated logic that from what I have seen in past threads relies on purely "BE THE BOOK" ideologies founded in the individuals academic livelihood.

Its kind of sad when people have so little evidence for the things they say that it is now claimed using logic, data, reason, and evidence is somehow extrodinary. This is not academic. Its part of being a person who puts their belief based on facts, and not hype.

Not in anyone elses experience or livelihood, so simply put"you will allways be wrong".
While lightinthedarkness fancies himself/herself a great debater I personally feel the use of circular logic to press issues based on HARD DATA alone to be inconsequential when compared to HARD EXPERIENCE which can be found in abundance from people on ATS.

This is deflecting. Give one example of circular logic I have used. Just one. Give one example of where the DATA is wrong. When the data doesn't say what you want it to say, you just throw it out the window and shot the messenger. I am sorry things are not as horrible as people want them to be.

HARD EXPERIENCE means nothing when you want things to be horrible. For every person on ATS who thinks the end is nigh, there are thousands who think it isn't. By the way, my HARD EXPERIENCE says things just aren't as bad as people want - but my experience is disregarded because it doesn't fit with what people want to believe.

There is no doubt that lightinthedarkness is very intelligent and well educated on may subjects and for that I lend him a great deal of credence
when it comes to some issues.
I do agree that HARD DATA is a very valuable and necessary requirement in the ongoing search for truth, but it seems that lightinthedarkness has not yet learned that statistics can be skewed for any number of reasons ranging from human error to hardline acts of disinformation and everything in between. Even now I can imagine him asking " where is your proof of that, where is the documentation?"

Right, when the data say your wrong, claim its skewed. There is just one problem - neither you nor anyone else have been able to tell me how it is skewed. You can't tell me how the data is wrong. You see it doesn't agree with you,and assume that it is.

Lightinthedarkness you shouldnt over look experience. It can be just as powerful a tool in your arsenal as the hard data in school books and statistical papers.
Hope you dont think Im insulting you thats not my intent, rather Im trying to point out a weakness I see in you based on your debating skills which I might add are very good. I have seen many holes drilled in conspiracies by your debating skills and have had my mind changed on a few occasions. Not this time though I honestly think you need to lighten up and consider the probability that some of what YOU say may be flawed, there is allways that possibility.

Experience? My experience tells me that on ATS no one wants to ever look at the data when it disagrees with them. When the data shows someone is wrong, they run around in circles hysterically screaming that its skewed or simply wrong - without, of course - ever describing how it is wrong or demonstrating how it does not reflect reality.

My experience also tells me the data shows people love being negative. Its pumped into us by the media, politicians, ATS, and everywhere else. We are told constantly how horrible our lives are.

But the data...show that is not true. But hey, who needs the data? We'll just go on feeling. The founding fathers would be proud.

Snowen this isn't about being right or wrong. I've been wrong plenty of times before, and I've changed positions on a total 360 on a ton of very large issues (gay marriage, death penalty, etc.). This hasn't happened to me much on ATS because the exchange goes something like this most of the time:

Person X: The end is nigh, we are doomed, America sucks, and its all the fault of George Bush/The Neocons/The Reptilians/Insert Shadowy Conspiracy Group HERE.
Me: The data do not show the end is nigh, the data show something else.
Person X: YOUR A GOVERNMENT DISINFORMATION AGENT! YOUR HERE TO OBSFUCATE FROM THE TRUTH! YOUR A LIAR! THE STATISTICS ARE A LIE!!
Me: What? How are they a lie? What exactly do you think is wrong with them?
Person X: YOU WORK FOR A ALPHABET SOUP AGENCY, YOUR TRYING TO DISTRACT FORM THE TRUTH, OMG OMG OMG
Me: ...

When these sort of exchanges happen, no learning goes on. This isn't about "winning" in debates, frankly I do not consider ATS a forum in which anyone can "win" any debate that does not explicitly agree with the group think opinion on something because when you disagree people love piling on you and making it impossible for you to have a conversation.

If you have data which show that life in the US is so horrible to justify a revolution, provide it. If you have data which demonstrate the data which says life is OK is wrong, provide it. Otherwise, people are just going to have to admit that they have no evidence for their opinion that we must start a revolution because life sucks- and if we are deciding whom is most likely to be right - it is usually the side with the evidence.

Having given some thought into the matter, i feel it's nessecary to point out a certain historical accuracy that does not exist technically in modern society.

The question of what to do about Government has always been thrown around, even back in Roman times when they were ruled by emperors - in fact, it is this very time period i wish to highlight.

The thing we are missing is the forum.

Ironic, considering the nature of this discussion.

We do have such things in modern society, but they go un-recognised as to what they truly achieve on a day to day routine.

Has the internet begun to shape society?

I think so, and the longer we go without realising the implications of this form of mass advertising of ideas, the bigger the effect it will have.

Of course, back in Roman times, there was also a certain thing called a Senate, which more or less acted as a focal point for the people who went to these forums - essentially acting as a so-called "power for the people".

The more people that realise this, the faster the realisation will spread that we the people have very little control over what the Government says or does.

Long ago, the People were more important that the Government...

Well I agree whole heartedly that ATS is not the place for debates, when atleast 90% of what goes on here is purley conjecture anyway.
I may be wrong when I say this but I personally veiw ATS as a means of entertainment rather than an informative source.
I thoroughly enjoy hearing other peoples ideas on the wide variety of topics. I guess my frustration with you came out when you made a point that really got under my skin..and it was the truth.
While I dont agree with you on many subjects completely I consider your points valid and trustworthy.
One can not provide proof that life in america is bad enough to revolt your right about that, and it really does come down to the emotional factor.
Unless someone can devise a method by which you can measure the emotions of people before the last revolution the fact remains that there is no proof.
In reality it comes down to what people are willing to take and where thier line is drawn.
I can not even say where that line is these days for certian all I hear is alot of people complaining.
I opted to leave the US because I was tired of dealing with them. Now im back and pissed as ever once again.

So rather than forming some rag tag group of mercs to go out and create civil unrest I find it easier to get the hell out.
Like I said before I have found the peace and freedom I was looking for in other countires but at GREAT sacrifce.
Im affraid a sacrifice that many americans are unwilling to accept these days, but hey its not for everyone.
I do see more and more control being taken from the people and I dont agree with that as I feel that the people should remain incharge and limit the power of the officials.
This seems to be the standard by which we live these days.
However beyond that I figure life here is what you make of it.
If you dont pay attention to what the hell you are doing in this country be it finacially, legally or otherwise you have none to blame but your self for screwing up.
It seems that the governments are an easy scape goat for the problems of America these days when American citizens have no one to blame but them selves.
I feel 9/11 was an inside job and I do beleive that they planned this out.
I can say this confidently based on my military experience and some of the things I was witness to. But never the less I still feel that America's Citizens are to blame for the sorry state in which we find ourselves today, not the government.
After all the only power they have is the power you give them, and everyone knows you give them and inch and they will take your whole ruler.

The more research I do the more I come to the conclusion that it would be easier than anyone could have imagined.

SUPPLY AND LOGISTICS!

Everything in this country is happening right now because of two things, basically.

OIL PRICES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Cars and SUV's)
The housing and subprime market!

To the average person, 80% of this country, those are the two largest investments that the AVERAGE person will make in their working lifetime.

These are the very tow things that are being hit the hardest. Strange or pure genious? The answer to that needs more indepth research.

Who ever is behind these two brewing crisis knows how to take out the enemy's suppy chain. If you look at what is happening from outside the box with a goal intended outcome, this is exactly what I would do if I wanted to make a drastic change to a country without the people knowing what is going on. This is a military advised strategy that is taking place here. Now whether that is U.S. Military or bought on the OVAL's Black Amex card is the question. ie Blackwater, Halliburton, and the big one KBR-( Kellog, Brown and Root ). All of these companies are operating in both Afghanistan and Iraq and are very capable of producing scenerios like we have in this couuntry now.

This is vey deep I know but look at this from outside the box.

If and only if there is a nationwide roadway strike, that is the only way that will disrupt this strategic plan that has been implemented on this country. There is no other way!

Bottom line is this is all about oil and power and everything else that comes with it are the spoils of a battle won.

Are we that weak that we let an oil industry threaten our very blessed and precious way of life in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

I will indeed fight again for this country and will lead if needed, but the solution to or counter manuver is to have a strike on the roadways so massive that it goes from SEA TO SHINING SEA and from the border of our north neighbor to the border with our southern neighbor right across the middle of the country.

A traffic strike of such a scale would gridlock traffic in a matter of minutes.

Starting at 10:00am on the westcoast and 1:00pm on the east coast.

People of this thread, this is the only way that we will gain the attention of the people who sit in our house in our capital who are supposed to be
REPRESENTING THE VIEWS AND VOICES OF THE "WE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA".

Plan B you will not like to be a part of. We have already had one of those.
