I'm happy its got its license, but I'm fed up at the same time, because I can't afford to get down to Waddington this weekend, and it will almost certainly be added to the display at RIAT next weekend, and I can't afford the £100 it would cost to get down there, pay for entry, eat etc - not to mention the 7 hour round driving trip.

Talk about last minute. Up until a week ago they were struggling to get funds to sort out the display license.

C'est la vie, as they say.

If you do see it, do me a favour? Get loads of photos and the highest quality sound recording you can of it taking off. That roar is....spectacular. (which reminds me, if you have a car alarm with sonic sensors, turn it off!)

I used to see the Vulcan at Woodford every year in the 80's until it was grounded , and really would love to see it up close and in person again

ok first off i will be taking LOADS of pics , plus my sister who is a photgrapher for the AP, will be coming too, (so loads of decent pics ).

it will be based at Waddington all weekend, and is scheduled to fly back out from Waddington on the following tuesday.

as far as i know it will be flying on the Saturday, however there is now talk that it may fly on Sunday too.

i will be setting up a site for all my pics and hopefully video too.

take care

I see it now
thats a cool pic.

Must've been hard for the Vulcan pilot to keep behind the Lanc. One will almost have been just above stall while the other was probably at full throttle.

Got any more?
