The peace of God to all that belong to the light,
Dear Readers,

I start this thread to talk about one of the most polemical topics that ever exist but also one of the more needed in the task to purify the modern world of the false morality that is not contributing to build the realm of God but to the contrary to create terrible chains of hate and resentment, specially among fathers and sons.

Can we ask at least once in our life how many relevant figures of the History were considered illegitim because their parents were not married when they born? Let me mention only some of them to refresh your memory:

- Leonardo Da Vinci, Great Figure of the Renaicencense
- Laurens of Arabia, promiment leader & heroe
- Erasmus of Rotterdam, The great Humanist
- Leone Batista Alberti, Italian architect and humanist
- Jean le Rond d'Alembert, French mathematician, mechanician, physicist & philosopher
- Saint Martín de Porres, Peruvian Dominic brother & Mysthic.
- Alexander Hamilton, Founding Father, 1s U. S. Secretary of the Treasury.
- James Smithson, British mineralogist and chemist , after who was named the famous Smithsonian institute
- The Russian poets and political writers Ivan Pnin and Vasily Andreyevich Zhukovsky.
- Marco Fidel Suarez, President of the Republic of Columbia
- Elizabeth 1st of England, founder of the British Empire.
- The legendary King Arthur of Camelot, Britain
- The brave King Shaka Zulu of SouthAfrica.
- Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz, Mexican Poet and nun .
- The Italian Actress Sophia Loren
- The Italian Actress Isabella F. E. G. Rossellini
- Evita Peron, legendary Argentinian First lady & VicePresident .
- Fidel Castro-Ruz, the polemic Cuban Leader
- Anna Pavlova, legendary prima Ballerina Abssoluta

And how many also relevant figures of the History had sons outside marriage? let me mention also some of them just to recall the collective memory:

- The famous Hungarian Musician Franz Lizst
- Christopher Columbus, Discoverer of the Western Hemisphere, named by SS.John Paul II as the principal personage of the 2nd millenium.
- Dn Hernan Cortez, conqueror of Mexico
- Thomas Jefferson, father founder and President of the United States
- Lyndon B. Johnson, President of the United States
- Jacques Custeau, famous French naval officer, explorer, ecologist
- King Henry VIIIth of England.
- King Alfonso XIIIth of Spain.
- The Pope Alexander VIth
- The Russian Tsarina Catherine II, the Great.
- King Charles II of England, Ancestor of Princess Diana of Wales
- King Edward VIIth of England (Great Grand Father of Camila Parker-Bowles??!!)
- Francois Mitterand, President of France.
- Jose Lopez-Portillo&Pacheco, Mexican President .
- Wilhelm Furtwangler, Legendary Berlin Philarmonic conductor
- The Swedish Actress Ingrid Bergman
- The Italian Film Director Roberto Rossellini
- Enzo A. Ferrari, Italian driver and Car entrepreuner
- Albert Einstein, Novel of Physics, best known for his theory of relativity
- Mette-Marit, Crown Princess of Norway
- Princess Stéphanie of Monaco

So we are talking about a so common situation that affect all the different classes of people, but that remains even in our days as source of discrimination by the hypocrecy of some very old social norms.

But to know what was the origin of this so old tradition of discrimination against the so unfairly named illegitim childs it is necessary to talk also about a fact that is closely related with it, that is, the concubinage in the History.

It looks that the origin of the hate against the Illegitimate children is due to the common belief that they are product of a sin, that is the sex outside marrige, but that is something that is so relative and not very clear. If that would be the case what can we say about the concubines mentioned in the Bible??? Prophets like Abraham, and kings like David and Solomon had them.

Let check a very interesting list of those cases in the Bible at the following link:

A Concubine or mistress was a woman that was not married with his man but anyway was accepted socially as one of his partners or relatives, under his protection, even could live in the same house of the wife.

The sons of the concubines were considered legitim, with the same rights than the ones that were born of the priincipal wife. This is because a Mistress is not a Prostitute, but a woman that belongs to only one man.

But we have in our time that millions of people that born every year from not marriage relationships must afront discrimination from the most traditional sectors of the society that name them Bastards.

The Word Bastard, as it is stated in the Proverbs of the Bible does not necessarily means illegitim child, but primarly a son that cause troble to his father, and moreover the one that contrariate or insult his father. However the most Conservative Moralilty has changed gradually its original meaning to become the modern one of non-marriage children.

Another terrible unfair use of the word Bastard is to use it for the mixed people, for the ones that come from parents of different ethnicities. That was the costume among the ancient Israelits , you can chk it at the following link:

Is this realy the will of God? or a commandment created by the priests of the jews only to favored the racism?

Of course it was not the will of God, if that would be the case Jesus christ cannot be the Messiah, as well as David couldnt be prophet and King of Israel since among his common ancestors it is Ruth, a Moabit lady.

Pls chk a discussion about this topic at:

As it is stated in the book of Ezechiel Chapter 18 God Never judge or condemn a person for the sins of his father or mother but only for the ones that actually it has commited. Hence, nobody born illegitimate for God.

This is the reason for which it is advisable to read the Bible with a good guidance since it is not, as many sects claim, the word of God, but the recipient that contains the word of God mixed with other things like the traditions, myths, chronics, history of the jews.

Hoping to have great participation of the members of the forum in this interesting discussion let me thanks for your atention,

your friend,

The marriage children outside marriage thing wasn't in the bible it was made up by later kings and catholic popes etc.
Where does it say in the bible about marriage
Old testament?
It says they "NEW" them and then BEGAT the children.
There is many different forms of marriage.
Having a priest saying some stuff in front of him and signing a certificate for an unlawful government is just one version of marriage.
If 2 people fall in love and stand there together under the stars before the GOD force and confess there love and say the things they want to say how is it any different.

Well Being_From_Earth,

in many aspects I am agreed with you about the importance of Love to qualify or disqualify a human relationship.

However I think in the discussion about the supposed illegitimacy of the sons born outside formal marriage the polemic part appears at the point in which this fact occur being the father or mother marriage with other person or not. Additionaly we must consider when the legitimate Wife or Husband tolerates the affairs of its partner.

I would propose to discuss this business in those two types of situations, when the biological father or mother is single and when it is engaged in a commited relationship with somebody while at the same time it has a lover.

As I explained in my initial post None child can by considered Illegitimic for God, since the responsability is always personal about sins, that is clearly stated in the book of prophet Ezechiel chapter 18, but about the qualification of a relationship in which it was born a child, the problem can be totally different, since that refers exclusively to the parents' responsibility but not the child's.

Anyway we would be talking about not illegimacy of a relationship but more properly of its level of legitimacy or social status.

Curiously, talking about these things I have found two so interesting links in the web that refers to a supposed afroamerican son of our beloved former President William J. Clinton, chk it pls:

The Peace of God to all that belong to the light,
Dear Readers,

It is curious but in the middle age many men people prefered to have sexual relationships with their future wives, even when it was a bride already planned to do, intentionally only just to assure the the son or daughter that will born will inherit the mythical power or good luck that supposely the ilegitimics always have.

Of course this obey to the so called Law of Compensation , it is part of the esoterism to know that there exist a balance in all the things, that when somebody suffer some disgrace or loss, if that person remains fair, faithful and confident in the Divine Justice, always there is a compensation comming to it, and usually that one is better than if the bad fact never occured.

So this Compensation Rule is the one that can explain to us many other wonders occured to people appearantly in clear disadvantage in the Life:

- That is the case of Abraham Lincoln, a child that born in poverty and in a so isolated country town of Illinois, appearently the least place to start a brilliant career in Laws but became probably the most important President that America have had.

- Two other Presidents that lost their father when they were both only children, but they finally arrived to the White House, even using the surname of their respective adoptive fathers: Gerald Ford & Bill Clinton.

- Napoleon Bonapart, the Great Emperor of the French People, that started his life also in poverty and member of a very big family of peasants in Corcega, a very forgotten province of France that was Italian only few years before he born.

- Thomas Alba Edison that was disqualified and expulsed as pupil when he was in the basic school, even classified as stupid by his teachers, but that with thanks to his will and determination and the support of her Mother became the greatest American Inventor of all times.

- The history of the Western Hemisphere and of Spain register clearly two very interesting cases of explorers and conquerors that were brave adventurers and bet all their reputation and capital to develop their dreams, even when many people reamained skepticals about their possibility of success. Both born in relatively modest conditions and nothing could predict that they could be Great men, nothing but their own self confidence, they were Christofer Columbus and Hernan Cortes.

- Or how about the most famous multimilllionaires of the world that were in their youth so poor immigrants like Andrew Carnagie or Aristotheles Onassis? They knew very well the secret of this Magic Law of compensation.

- At the end of the XIX century a child born in a relatively modest city of Russia, named Penza, a place that was not at that time an easy place for intellectuals or Artists. however, this child had in mind great dreams to be the most successful Art empresario of the world, and actually he made them reality thanks to his determination and the belief in the Law of Compensation, his name was Sergei Diaghilev.

- Not very far from that place, in Ufa, capital of the Autonomous Russian Republic of Bashkyrstostan another child born and grew up in the middle of the most extrem poverty that we can imagine, and in the so difficult & cruel time of the WWII. His childhood was really dificult since he always had the opposition of his so dominant father to his beatiful personal dreams of Greatness as a Dancer, but his courage, determination and faith were determinants to allow him to achieve them in the 1950's, the name of that boy was Rudolf Nureyev and is now a Legend in the History of the Classic dance.

I am going to talk more about the important Law of Compensation and this will open the way to go head in other important principles of personal success here in this Thread in the future.

Almost all the people that I mentioned in my first post in this thread, as illegitimic are nice examples of how the Law of Compensantion works when the person has faith and courage to look his opportunity in life.

Yes there is magic in this life and it is my purpose to disclose some of it to you in the incoming opportunities here.

Of course as always your comments are very well received.

Thanks for your atention,

That's it? That's the biggest list you could find about "bastards" that made good with their lives? EVERY society has discouraged children outside of marriage. Granted, some societies had very different ideas of what a marriage constituted, but still they said having a kid outside of it was a no no.

One only has to visit the nearest medium sized prison for the list of bad "bastards" to OUTNUMBER THE ENTIRE LIST YOU GAVE FOR THE ENTIRE HISTORY OF THE HUMAN RACE. All in the very same building, no less.

The reason that "bastards" are discouraged is that the vast majority of children without fathers go on to be criminals and disruptions in society. Not all, but the GREATEST SINGLE PREDICTOR OF CRIMINALITY IS THE ABSENCE OF A BIOLOGICAL FATHER IN THE HOME. That's why it is discouraged.

It seems many of the people on the list were the children of wealthy and royal parents. Very few of them grew up in poverty and want. I suspect the fathers were directly involved in the education of most of the people on the list.

Now days, the term bastard is used to describe people who behave badly regardless of whither their parents were married. Fathers are important teachers and mentors. When fathers are absent or indifferent ,the result is maladjusted adults . While those fathers of the people on the list were not legally married to the mothers, they were probably involved in the upbringing of their offspring.

The best hope people with lazy or absent fathers have is that a male mentor in the form of a teacher or spiritual advisor will step in to guide them into becoming an asset to their community.

If someone or something is "rejected" by God, does that imply that there is something other than God? That there is God over here, and then over there is something else? Because I thought God was essentially "everything."

Just another paradox.

Your comment about the supposed priviledged social condition of the majority of the people on the list is not really precise, in fact is very apart of the reality, let me talk a little about some cases:

- Leonardo Da Vinci, he was actually the son of a rich man but didnt receive support from him and his only inheritance was a modest house but received when he was already a famous Artist and even that small property was demanded by his other legitimic brothers that protested the testament of their father.

- Laurens of Arabia, He was the son of a Noble english man that didnt do anything for him more than to give his so proudly last name to him. Probably this was the reason for which he believed more in the sincerety of the Arabs, that consider him as a brother, than in the British people.

- Saint Martín de Porres, he was the son a spanish man that was actually weathy but he gave his half african son as a gift to the Domincan convent of Lima so you can imagine what type of father was that.

- Marco Fidel Suarez, President of the Republic of Columbia, he never meet his father in his whole life, in fact his mothers house is the most poor cabine that you can imagine. It is still conserved in a museum as remembrance to the modern Colombians that in a Democratic society there are opportunities to allow that anybody wcan be Leader of the Society.

- Elizabeth 1st of England, founder of the British Empire. She was the youngest dauther of Henry VIII but when her mother was executed due to supposed infedility she remained apart of the court until she inherit the throne thanks to the death of her two other siblings.

- The legendary King Arthur of Camelot, he was the only son of Uther king of Britain, but when his father was in the throne he remained apart, he didnt receive any recognition in life of Uther, even many people didnt know that he was son of the King, only Merlin, the wizard, found the truth about him.

- Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz, the most famous Mexican Poet of the colonial times. She never received recogntion of her father, she enter to the church since in her time for an illegitimic was so difficult to find a good husband.

- The Italian Actress Sophia Loren. She was the daugher of a poor man that never did anything for her or her mother during her childhood. This man even dared to sold his recognition and the right to use his lastname to Sophia when she was already famous.

- Evita Peron, Argentinian First lady & VicePresident. She never received any recognition of his father, when he died she , her mother and siblings didnt inherit one peso in the testament. She became famous and powerful for his own effort , doing a brilliant actress career and marrying Juan Domingo Peron. She was the one that made Peron a Political leader.

- Anna Pavlova, legendary prima Ballerina Abssoluta. She didnt meet her father in her whole life, a weathy Jew, she was the daughter of a very poor woman that washed clothes to supervive. She became famous thanks to her talent to dance that catched the atention of the Tsar of Russia, her sponsor.

All these people arrived to this world in an appearant disadvantage situation but they had the commond denominator to have a Possitive attitude with respect to life, they had strong faith in themselves and thanks to that they found the secret of the the magical law of compensation.

Of course not all the people that born illegitimic have this possitive attitude, many became so unhappy people, even with terrible psicological problems but even among them when they have enough confidence it is possible to find impressive achievements , and the law of Compensation, as it is a universal, also works.

Three good examples of this dark side are:

- Fidel Castro-Ruz, the polemic Cuban Leader. The son of a very weathy cuban, he received a very nice education paid by him in the best jesuit University of La Habana and got a degree in laws, was attorney but laterly after he made the Revolution he became Cuban Dictator.

- The brave King Shaka Zulu of SouthAfrica. He never received any recogntion as principe in life of his father, in fact his mother and grand mother died of starvation when he was just a kid. He arrived to the power when won a confrontation with his legitimic siblings, he killed them and the people that humiliated for year his mother.

- The Fuhrer Adolf Hitler, that born illegimate, never meet his father, never received economical support from him, he actually was the son of rich Jew Aloys Schicklgruber. He took the surname of his stepfather, Johann Georg Hiedler or Hitler. He suffered a lot to supervive as an adoelscent but finally afther many turns became cancelor of the Reich, dictator of germany, then of all Europe, he wanted to be also of the world, but the rest is already History.

By the way, this last examples show clearly why is a terrible sin to be bad father or dont support illegitimic sons.

I didn't study the other people on your list ,but I know Leonardo Da Vinci's father arranged for him to study under great mentors. I think the fathers were more involved in some of these cases than you give them credit.

Excuse me but I carefully studied the life of every person of the list previousl to post it here.

The father of Leonardo didnt give to him his Lastname(Fruosino di Antonio), the least that any gentleman can do for a son, so how can be possible that he do something else for him? that is entirely dubious, at least I didnt found any solid evidence of your claim, if there is something he did for Leonardo must be incidental and just probably to say that it was his son, nothing more.

Da Vinci is not a last name, there is no other italian person alive with it in all Italy, is just the way he wanted to be known by the People.

this information is posted in his webpage in wikipedia:

Leonardo was born on April 15, 1452, "at the third hour of the night"[x] in the Tuscan hill town of Vinci, in the lower valley of the Arno River in the territory of Florence.[3] He was the illegitimate son of Messer Piero Fruosino di Antonio da Vinci, a Florentine notary, and Caterina, a peasant[4][5] who may have been a slave from the Middle East.[e][6] Leonardo had no surname in the modern sense, "da Vinci" simply meaning "of Vinci": his full birth name was "Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci", meaning "Leonardo, son of (Mes)ser Piero from Vinci."[3]

By the way let me clarify that the house his father gave him in the testament was so small that even Leonardo felt embarrassed that the people would know that such a rich man left only that poor property for him.

Leonardo Da Vinci would never have been allowed to study under his mentors if he had not been the bastard child of a well placed man who arranged for his introduction to his mentors and lessons. This websight will offer more details on Leonardo da Vinci.

"Little is known about Leonardo's early life. He spent his first five years in the hamlet of Anchiano, then lived in the household of his father, grandparents and uncle, Francesco" From Wikipedia

This refutes your thesis that da Vinci came from your run of the mill rolling stone.

reply to post by eradown, Leonardo Da Vinci would never have been allowed to study under his mentors if he had not been the bastard child of a well placed man who arranged for his introduction to his mentors and lessons.

Dear eradown,

Thanks for your participation in the discussion, but I think you run to fast to celebrate your supposed victory over my arguments, that by the way I don't find what have to do with the rolling stones.

You are wrong to assume that to be a son of a rich man was a requisite to be accepted by the great Masters, there was more determinant to have Talent, and that is the only common thing between the classmates of Leonardo, and of course, natural talent is always a gift, does not have nothing to do with social status.

The father of Leonardo became rich being a merchant but he was not noble or member of well accomodated family through generations, he was just a craftman.

The most important Master of Leonardo in his early years was Andrea del Verrocchio, born Andrea di Michele di Francesco de' Cioni, (c. 1435 – 1488) , in his atelier he went to take classes of diferent fine arts with other young fellows that laterly became also famous: Ghirlandaio, Perugino, Botticelli, and Lorenzo di Credi.

Nor Ghirlandaio, Nor Botticelli and Nor Credi were sons of noble or rich men, to the contrary all of them born in middle class families primarly of goldsmiths that by the time were not recognized as artists, just as artisans. Of couse Goldsmith was an artistic discipline but a minor art, like wood carving.

Sandro Botticelli probably was the one of better social status but his family was upper middle class, never rich. You can verify this in the following link:

even Sandro prefered to don't use his last name and change to Boticelli, the lastname of one of his masters, conscient of his lack of Artist linage, you can also chk this at:

The best counterexample to prove that your assumption is false, that Leonardo was admited in Verroccio atelier thanks to the high social profile of his father, that it looks you consider was a norm to study there, is the case of Pietro Perugino, that was a so really very poor guy.

Here is the initial part of his more complete biography that you can chk in the following link:

Look at this and see how priviledged was this guy, it is actually difficult to imagine a more modest social profile for a brilliant artist:

THE beneficial influence of poverty in impelling men to perfect their talents is well illustrated in the life of Pietro Perugino. Escaping from the dire misfortunes of Perugia, and coming to Florence, he endeavoured to make himself a name by his talents. For many months he lived with nothing to sleep in but a chest, while he studied his profession with the utmost ardour, turning night into day. Once this had become a habit, he knew no other pleasure than the continual practice of his art and to be always painting. 1 Moreover, the fear of poverty being continually before his eyes, he did things for gain which he probably would never have looked at but for the necessity of maintaining himself, so that wealth might have prevented that progress which he was compelled to make in order that, even if he did not attain to the highest excellence, he might at least have enough to support himself. Thus he took no heed of cold, hunger, discomfort, toilor shame, to the end that he might one day enjoy ease and rest, his favourite saying being that good weather must needs follow bad, and that houses are built in fair weather so that one may have shelter when the need arises.

But in order that the progress of this artist may be better understood, I will begin at the beginning. According to the public report he was born at Perugia, of a poor man of Castellodal Pieve called Cristofano, and was christened Pietro.

thanks again for your atention, please take in account that you are talking with a person that knows deeply this topic. I has been lecturer of the Rainancense in various opportunities in my life in reputed Universities, institutes and museums.

Hi again Dear eradown,

About your other observation Yes Leonardo was the son of a woman from the middle east but moreover of a slave. It is quite difficult to say that his mother's genes were more determinant than his father's, I think the only thing that we can assume is that he is also a good counterexample to the ones that say that pure ethnical background is better than mixed.

However it is also truth that the Renaincense marks the point in which the meridian of the vanguard in Sciences, Technology and Arts of our civilization was moved from the middle East to Europe.

That is a so very acute observation from your side, I give the point to you in that aspect, congratulations.

This topic open a so huge and so interesting new discussion that I decided to create a separate new thread for it here in ATS, so please chk it at:

You are welcome,as well as any other member that be specially interested in that side of DA Vinci to give his opinions there. I pointed four essential questions there about that aspect that I hope you will find also interesting.

We are all made in the image of the creator, and every child reflects God's wish that mankind should go onward. Every human being has a mother and a father, and no one gets to choose who their parents are. To blame a child for a parents actions, is illogical.

Yes yankeerose,

that is a so deep reflexion and a great Truth, by the way entirely consistent with the content of Ezechiel 18, one of the more important books of the Old Testament, or the Torah for the non Christians.

God is not the one that is behind of the discrimination that the society can practice against the illegitimic children, that has nothing to do with his will, in fact if to have a son or a daughter outside marriage is a sin is surely more than other thing since God would want that every child that born in this world would come surrounded by the love of a family, there is no other reason for such commandment.

It is quite probable that the circumstances that God chose to prepare the arrival of the Messiah to this world, the immaculate incarnation of St Mary, were precisely in that way, to a lady that was not yet married but only in compromise with a single man, precisely to show to the world that Jesus wanted to carry in his cross all the possible sufferings of the human condition, even the one to be discredited unfairly & with false arguments by his enemies, to be a possible illegitimic son.

Even in our days that is the thesis of the Levites and orthodox jews, that Christ couldn't be the messiah since supposely for them it was not legitimic child, there are some fundamentalists of judaism that even have invented the calumny that he was the son of a Roman soldier.

Such a calumny that of course is in contradiction with the well known prophecy of Isaiah 800 years before Christ, that cleary stated that he was going to born from a Virgin, and a Blasphemy to the Holy Ghost, the most grave sin that somebody can commit, nevertheless had at least a good side and was the opportunity to show to the leaders of Israel that the stone that the builders rejected become to be the foundation of the entire contruction.

Christ when he accepted the so difficult role and responsability to be the saviour of all the human kind, he assumed also the responsibility to give peace and consolation to the souls of the millions of human beings that along all the History were going to be victims of the so difficult condition to be illegitimic, he opened the doors of the paradise also for them.

We have seen in the list that I posted that there is a so high risk to condition the life of a person to be sinful and plenty of resentment, suffering and hate when a person is unfairly attacked & humiliated by the possible sins of its parents.

That discrimination & lack of parent responsibility must be severly punished as one of the worst crimes by the civil laws, since it is proven that such psicological traumas can develop emotional disbalances that even can produce grave issues laterly for the entire society, even the more extremely unthinkable situations like the arrival of criminals, Dictators or even World wars.

But we have confirmed from the analysis of multiple cases that the thing that can be determinant to ruin a life through a negative attitude also can be an additonal so challanging motivation, under a possitive mental attitude, to reach the greates achievements of the human condition. Many optimistic illegitimics of the History were genuine light for the Humanity.

Absolutely right. No child is ever born in sin in God's eyes, no matter the circumstances to which said child is brought forth, not under his/her control.

Thank you for all you do.
