I was balancing my checkbook this morning which was bad enough when it was announced on CNN that Rush Limbaugh had just renewed his contract for 400 million dollars.

“I’m not going to make it”…I don’t know how to grow crops, purify water, build solar cells, hunt and gather. I don’t know the difference between poison oak and the plant that will cure cancer. I have no idea how to make a halloween costume out of twine and felt scraps how the hell will I figure a recipe to turn paper into concrete to fortify the straw bales I’m building my new hut with? Bear Grylls I am not.
I’m not going to make it.

First off... Rush isn't a bad guy.... he's a guy who worked his fat butt off to get where he is at in life. Just like everyone who is successful has worked hard to get where they are at in life. It's patently obvious that you feel cheated in life. Remember that YOU made the decisions that put you where you currently are in the social heirarchy of life and only YOU can change it. The first step is to take responsibility for your past actions and future actions - to correct your situation.

Second... If you think you are not going to make it then you won't. Educate yourself. You obviously have a PC to make the post and you have the vast resources of the internet at your disposal. There is no excuse for not knowing how to distill potable water, fuel, tree sap, make paper, make nails, make roap, make soap or any of the other survival skills necessary to survive the coming natural and man-made cataclysms the planet and it's inhabitants will endure. There is no reason to remain ignorant of the differences in the various flora and fauna that populate the country sides in the wilderness areas. Many will die.... you will be one of them unless you learn. And having the knowledge to survive does not automatically mean that one will survive..... it only increases the possibility of survival.

Three.... Stop whining, get straight and move forward. Don't worry about what others have because there will always be someone who has more than you. Get used to it.

Whew what a day! I have to say... I have been humbled. I've been thoroughly schooled! Here is what I learned today:

I went to work today.....because I'm lazy

...as an accountant...because I'm uneducated

I think there is something wrong when one human being has more money than they could spend in 10 lifetimes while another human being has no clean drinking water...because I'm a liberal hate monger

I'm alarmed at how poorly human beings treat each other due to their differences...because I'm a fascist

I'm struggling financially with the rest of the middle class in America...because I haven't paid my dues and I haven't earned it

I have two eyes that see injustice, a heart that feels compassion, a mind to compute that equation and a voice to speak with...because I'm exactly what's wrong with this country

Thank goodness there were those to see right through me and set me back on track. You guys know me so well it's eerie....now, how many fingers am I holding up?

man i feel ya... me and some buddies are sick and tired, and fed up with our luciferian government controlling and manipulating us with their black and white magic... someone's gotta stop them... it's about time for a revolution of the human spirit! i just joined this site, but have been following it for a while. the world needs to wake up - the time is now for spiritual enlightenment. all our (mis)leaders are doing is holding us back from our true nature. who's with me?

Your response is clearly indicative of someone who is incapable of improvising, adapting and overcoming the adversities of existence. And the fact that you have survived this long in your dull, uneventful, number-crunching life is not due to the implicit human capability to strive/survive but merely your own inability to venture outside your circumscribed/safe existence. At your very core you enjoy being a down-trodden loser.

You are not lazy.... you are a automaton. A creature of urban habitual conditioning that is unable to take constructive advice and move forward.

Life these days is more complicated. But you don't have to know everything.

Stop spending 45 minutes in WalMart. Cats don't give a crap what they crap in; when I was little, we put dirt in the litter box. You surely have dirt around somewhere you can use, then spend the difference on yourself. Buy something/do something for yourself. Your cat will still love you.

As the old saying goes, count your blessings. I guess when we stop counting our blessings, we end up getting off track and counting things we don't need in our lives.

Wow, is that all - $603 a month- what a deal! I pay $900 and live in a very old studio that was "converted" into a 1 bedroom apartment. I manage my money well though, so its not an issue. I also work 80 hours a week while not in school to afford it.

See? Someone always has it worse than you when you think you've got it bad. I'm sure we have quite a few people living in NYC or similar world cities that are paying $1,500 or more for a 1 room apartment/

So what? You whine you you're paying Rush personally. If the network wants to pay Rush $400 million, that means he'll generate a hell of a lot more then that in advertising revenue. If he can deliver the goods, he should get paid whatever the market wants.

But not to worry. When the socialist take over this country in a few more months, they will try to shut Rush down with the so-called "Fairness Doctrine". The lefties aren't interested in broadcasting socialist ideas. The failure of Air America proved that there isn't much of a market in listening to left-wing radio anyway.

They just want to shut Rush (and other talk radio guys) down so we can only get our news from officially approved network sources.

Yeah, I would like to take my daughter to Tai-chi and piano lessons and spend more time with her. I would like to have a newer and safer car, my own house, more food and more firewood or just more time to get my hands on more firewood.
But complaining about it isn't going to make the money available for those things. Actually nothing will. I'm just not cold hearted enough. Although I have found that as I become more cynical I get slightly better jobs and my pay increases a bit. But that's really no substitute for being an uncaring git which allows one to climb the corporate ladder by being wilfully mean to others.

Ok, so I figure feeling bad and down about corruption is alright, as long as you don't dwell on it. We've got to just keep on going and trying to make things better for ourselves (and others if your able to) without sinking to the level that allows the "successful" to take advantage of the workers.
