Just following on from schrodingers dogs' excellent thread about "How are you coping" After reading through the thread there was alot of talk about returning to a more community or tribal based way of living where people will help each other through hard times etc. So seeing as ATS is a community why not share your money saving ideas with others.

It might be something meanial like growing your own vegtables or maybe a store in yor area that may be having a sale that could be beneficial to others (kids clothes, footwear even canned food etc)

So lets hear your tips on how to get the best value for your money and even energy saving tips. In these hard times I'm sure people would appreciate all the help they can get.

For some excellent ideas and some good information on things you can do, here's a very handy resource: A SteamPunk’s Guide to the Apocalypse

It's mainly written with a SitX scenario in mind, but much of it could still be useful even under normal circumstances, such as solar cooking and water filtration.
