Center of the bible

sorry if its been posted before but i didnt see it when i did a search.

this is just something that made me think

Did you know Psalm 118 is the middle chapter in the bible

Psalm 117 is the shortest chapter

Psalm 119 is the longest chapter

The bible has 594 chapters before Psalms 118 and 594 chapters after Psalm 118

if you add up all the chapters excluding psalm 118 you get 1188 chapters

psalm 118 vers 8 (118:8) is the middle verse of the entire bible

"It is better to take refuge in the lord than to trust in man" (psalm 118:8)

which i guess is the central theme to the bible....

erm..I thought it was Psalm 117 that was the center because there are an even number of verses so you end up with two verses instead of a single center verse of the bible.

The site you linked to says that the listing of Psalms 118 was the hoax or mis-info, that really it is Psalms 117 for the center chapter.

Yeah, the link the OP gave as evidence for their claim was a site debunking their claim. What gives?

I can't help but wonder why people seem to think they can count everything and find something that they then look at and start counting again. Seems like a big waste of time to me.



I mean, who really cares how many chapters are in the bible? Why? there's so many more relivant documents out there. There's so many documents left out of the bible and stuff has been moved around.

Maybe if people would think about such things more and count less, they might actually get somewhere.

psalms 118 isnt the exact center psalms 118:8 is the center, they are disputing that 118 is the center but that 118:8 is the center

obviously some didnt read the whole page

also made me wonder who has such a non existant life to even bother working all that out in the first place
