Definitely there's a distribution of power. Money which is used to be the king, now, well.... less of a king.

What's next? Virtual money perhaps?
Virtual currency threatens stability of Chinese currency

Yeah, but the currency strength of the dollar is reflected in the $100 gas card...if the dollar loses purchasing power in gasoline, then so does the gas card...because it's dollar denominated...

The only way your claim could be true would be if the gas card bought a certain amount of gallons not matter what the price you paid for the card....which no company would ever do in an inflationary environment.

Which makes no sense, since $100 buys as much gas as a $100 gas card AND $100 is much more flexible in what can be bought. The only reason why it happened was because, as someone has already said, it was probably all the guy had. But of course...since its a gas card, OMGZ OMGZ SEX FOR GAS A NEW LOW FOR OUR COUNTRY!!!!!11111 I love the media/in this case, the DNC propaganda center/ sensationalism.

Yup, you guys are right, it doesn't make any sense, yes it was probably all the guy had, and somehow the girl was willing to take the card.
If it was a card/coupon for something else, wonder whether she'll still take it.

I just knew coupon clipping would eventually pay off!
What do you think I can get for this one:

Scott Bath Tissue - 12 rolls - Selected Varieties - $7.49 each.

That's $90 worth of bath tissue alone! Gotta be worth something.

That what I was thinking too.

Bet she'll only take $100 worth of gold or diamond, but not a $100 fancy chocolate. And of course another $100 gas card. But she prefers the gas card. Let's just say, it's more liquid.

See, gas card is more like money now, as for grocery coupons... still not like money.

The most hilarious aspect of this story is that unless she went to the station with the guy to check the balance remaining on the card, he could have given her a $100 gas card with only $0.50 left on it and she'd have no idea until she went to the station to use the card.

I'll take that bet, although I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Well someone was certanly tired of getting screwed at the pump so they wanted to turn the tables.

It was just a matter of time before this kind of story came out.

Just remember when Bush took office gasoline cost $1.45 per gallon.

Other than his appearance on Star Trek, The only film he has been in was Multiplicity (1996).

Am I missing something or are you in that film as well?

You are missing something.

www.imdb.com...

Mark Hammil actually narrated the film. That was my hero growing up, well besides "the greatest america hero", so I was pretty stoked!
