I hope more people understand how media works now, don't take anything you hear so seriously, especially when you use it to bash muslims, it will come back in your face, and make you look silly.

The same thing happened with sharia law, some christian man mentioned something about sharia law in the uk, then everybody took the chance to bash muslims and say really bad things about them, when in reality most muslims would NEVER want sharia law in this country!

It's just silly.

I blame those Muslims (whether sizeable minority or majority) who back Shariah, and those non Muslims who, whether for politically correct reasons, intense fear of offence, or just because they are scared, give backing to it

He said he had no problems with the postcard and called on homeowners and local businesses to display them as it is in the public interest.

“I’ve not heard anything about that from members of the community,” Mr Sarwar said.

“I was round some shops today and at the mosque and nobody has said anything about it.”

It also points out that Muslim shopkeepers sell DOG FOOD....why on earth would they be offended by a poster?

The story is BS, intended to aggravate people and make them hate muslims.

Have just found this site and find it extremely interesting to hear everybodys' views.

i believe the media to be the main culprit.
the world works on a law of averages. good and bad, black and white etc....

also you have negative and positive news

this story only represents a very, very minute percentage of the muslim community, but as negative news the media jumps on it and immediately uses the story as the opinion of the entire Islamic faith.

i agree with an earlier comment of divide and conquer of the british populas. if we keep worrying about our neighbours then it takes an eye of the people who are really screwing us over - our socialist/capitalist government.

you will always have good and bad people. you may come across good or bad groups of people. but you will never encounter a single minded GOOD or BAD religion/faith.

i am a SUN (english TABLOID) reader, but it is more for entertainment value and i find reading peoples REAL opinions (whether i agree or not) on sites like this will give you a wider understanding on how it makes people.

one question though...

does the consistent portrayal of islamic negatism towards british ideals in the media mean the bigwigs at the media institutions are racist or are they simply aware that negative news sells and are 'twisting' these stories (as well as printing in abundance) to increase their profit margin?

just to add to this story, i noticed the paper it was in was the daily mail-known to some people in the uk as the daily heil...say no more!

It doesn't matter what type of paper carries the story, as by now many people realize they won't be getting the news in any mainstream media. Who for example, has read an article about Oklahoma declaring Sovereignty, and interviews? I havn't. I have contacted 3 major media outlets and questioned the quality of their service and relayed the story and asked how many of their reporters actually have tickets out of dodge?

Also, the issue of the number of complaints is extremely important. One complaint, even 50, but especially one. On one complaint by a radical fundamentalist (or more than one, a group) is sufficient to have the chief officer apologize publically. To whom was he apologizing? One person. To the PTB in public office who seem to be subtley leading us to a controlled society with sharia law ideals? Whom does this guy apologize to? One person?
