The photo was purportedly taken somewhere in the state of Ohio on Aug 28, 2007 (Search for Ohio on Aug 28, 2007) during a lunar eclipse. There was, in fact, a total lunar eclipse on that date and was visible to anyone in Ohio with a clear view of the sky.
ALLis0NE notes that the exif data indicates the photo was originally taken on Feb 28, 2005 at around 10:00 AM.
"/Exif/Image/DateTime", "8/28/2007 6:30:38 PM"
"/Exif/Photo/DateTimeOriginal", "2/28/2005 9:57:22 AM"
"/Exif/Photo/DateTimeDigitized", "2/28/2005 9:57:22 AM"
Only two lunar eclipse occurred in 2005 (2005 Apr 24: Penumbral Lunar Eclipse and 2005 Oct 17: Partial Lunar Eclipse) and neither was a total eclipse as indicated in the photo. Even if one did occur on that date, it would not be visible in the late morning. Lunar eclipses are only visible at night.
The photo as presented does appear to be rotated clockwise ~90 degrees. In mid northern latitudes (North America, Europe, Asia) the Moon rises in the east with its northeastern limb up (Mare Crisium), it reaches it highest point in the south with its north on top, and sets in the west with its northwestern limb (Mare Imbrium) on top.

Assuming the earth’s horizon is at the bottom of the OP's photo, the moon would never appear orientated as shown when viewed in the state of Ohio nor anywhere else in North America. (See corrected photo)

... Anyway flagged and thanks for the thread
