Welcome, Allinthemind. Thank you for joining in.

The black market is used to fund black ops here in the US of A. Perhaps somewhat over there, but I am less aware of the Irish needs and goings on.

Anyway...

Cheers!

I can walk right down to the drugstore and buy an OTC drug that will blow my mind completely.
But most people don't know this, or deny it's recreational value.

BUT, if it was sold illegally, then it would be a cool thing, it would now have 'rebel' value.

If pot was all of a sudden legalized, I don't think it's use would go up much, if at all, it would probably go down, because it loses then, it's 'cool' value.

Drug laws create desire and curiousity to those who want to try something 'too good and to fun' to be a legal thing.

Drugs are illegal now because marijuana made the fabric and the ropes and made the boats sail in their day, then along came dupont with nylon, they wanted to sell it.
Hemp had to be dealt with as it competed with nylon.

The competition had to be crushed, and everybody knows how politicians like money.

So everything got lumped in with pot and became illegal too.

Of course '___' and shrooms were a spiritual or showers of truth, that also had to be dealt with.

I think education is better than any drug laws, laws make drugs profitable and something to fight over.
And no BS in the education! So much BS about weed over the years that kids today don't believe anything they say about any drug, so they try harder stuff, believing the dangers are exaggerated!

It may be well to keep in mind that synthetic drugs such as coc aine, amphetamines and heroin are all used in medicine, as is MDMA and '___', so clearly if used wisely, these could not be as harmful as some posts infer.

As for whether synthetic drugs could assist one to attain a higher level of spirituality , after discussing this with many people over more than 40 years, I would have to say they can, particularly when used in conjunction with natural ones.

While certainly not a majority, many people even claim that CNS depressants such as alcohol and heroin (two drugs I would consider "bad") have been beneficial too them. Clearly is a matter between a person exercising their inalienable right to choose, and their god.

The OP is a romantic idea, truly, but I rather doubt it.

I wonder how many people see th OP as romantic, ie positive, or a living nightmare?

(it was intended to portray both BTW)

The nightmare is the fact that American tax dollars are going to provide material support for heroin growing, processing, and distribution from Afghanistan to Turkey to Europe and the US, while they are simultaneously going to prop up the War On Drugs at home.

It isn't a nightmare if you are in the legal profession, the law enforcement profession, or the prison industry. It's just business.

Illegalizing the use of naturally occuring drugs is not only a violation of natural law "real law" but a violation of the U.S. Bill of Rights if one wants to bugger on about it's legality. Its interesting to research the history of say marijuana...google "history of marijuana" and see for yourself. There's some knowledgeable folk around here about this issue which kind of surprised me (due to controlled medias) but then again everyones learning at exponential rates these days due to the internet and its access to ....well any damn thing you want to know!..(assuming you can trust the content provider/author)..... and there's lots of porn too....too bad the little fellows don't get to grow up slower though eh? Nothing wrong with looking at a smorgasboard of "peoples" in erotic postures but WOW some of that stuff out there should require a paid membership first before letting anyone seeing those kinds of images....you know the "farm" scenes and spread eagles....never knew people eroticized/abused a cow to the point of MOOOOOOO....and my respect for humanity was a little injured as well...not lol.
Back to my point....
What hasn't been said is how before the US govt. made marijuana illegal for it's citizens, one had to buy a stamp for it.
The problem was you had to present it for inspection first before getting the stamp.
They then immediately made it illegal to be in possession of it thereby making it illegal for you to present it for inspection for stamp duty in the first place!
That's how it became "technically illegal". Since there's already a firmly established legal precedent in place of which the argument of technical illegality and bill of rights violations issues failed to appeal to the JUDGE (paid for and planted there for just this issue), .......the issue of the "legality" of it becoming illegal is rarely tried though if you have bankroll...well never hurt since the courts usually see someone with money as a productive citizen. Big Pharma scored large...and just happen to be one of the biggest campaign donors...you know those nasty rats in suits that pay our officials campaign financing to get into office. Big lobbies push their agendas against most of our citizens welfare in effect committing treason on the American people who put those officials in office with expectation of jurisprudence. Jurisprudence has become an ideal....relevant to the times before paper currencies ran the world. We need to PUNISH public officials harshly for corruption and betraying the people they are paid and pledged the oath to protect and serve the common will of the people....not commit endless acts of bribery and graft. Demand your justice...I do...its your right both legally and naturally. Yes, I might have smoked a little....a few minutes ago...feeling relaxed too...and I can now sleep a little easier...thanks for the therapy ATS....the whole worlds gonna need some when the US goes into depression in early 2009 and the subseqent world recession will consolidate the banking industries into a consortium of banking cartels of which the current international banking families (notably the Rothschilds, Morgans, Rockellers etc.) will buy up these banking assets, real estate and corporations for pennies on the dollar. It's just a repeat of the 1929 Depression though MUCH much more worse. It's going to be real bad people. I'm not kidding. More violence than the developed world has ever experienced and on a much larger scale since our world's population is close to 4 BILLION pissed off people...and there pissed off because they are becoming enlightened in many areas they're not supposed to know about. Wait till you here about the coming IMF report on US finances....uhho...reminds me of the picture "Scream" by Edvard Munch....it says a thousand words. The US is currently a victim of economic terrorism as well though thats another issue...see my other posts if interested. We ramble on...where's my..

People o the pro and con sides of the war on drugs, as shown int he first two posts of this thread are both correct.

But the war on drugs is still a negitavise and here is why...

Dope like '___', Mushrooms, Xtsy, Ludes (have to add it) and Weed that either have the capacity to upgrade a poerson in any way spiritually or simple make for a relatively harmless good time, always are eradicated, aside from weed, Ludes are gone Shrooms would be very hard to locate, ludes were eradicated, there are only two places on Earth that make real Mdma...(don't lie and post) it's all meth and heroin mixed in a pill... MDMA is way to hard to synthisize... and these drugs particularly lsd carry sentances that defy the mind to explain...

Meanwhile Crack, Coke, Meth, Heroin... the addictive or life destroyers of the drug world are omnipresent in the states...

Even our laws and efforts like drug testing... ridiculous, the pee test, which shows weed for 30 days but Meth tests that show use more than 72 hrs are unheard of...

So... people use Meth instead of weed now or snort blow, which makes you a lunatic, cops, firemen..teachers, all are channeled into horror drugs...

Why? because the poster of the thread is correct, it keeps the war on drugs going while simultaneously spikeing the dope that works in the way (whomever they are) want's

Hitler was the last leader to popularize Meth, tireless work, a loss of human emotion and morals, do Meth and loose... Love and Compassion, do Pot and work less and gain those attributes...

It's obvious Meth is "allowed" the plants really aren't trailers, some people cook it, but really most of it comes from giant manufacturing operations in Mexico... a Guy in Vancouver grows Hydro lol and his house gets raided, but in Mexico Coca Cola plant sized factories of Blow and Meth exist with seeming obliviousness to the war on drugs...

Someone has an agenda for they way they like our minds and people in the States, the biggest corruption we have is politicians making money on the dope trade... via legal system, via illegal system... win win...

So why Meth? it makes you blind, immoral, keeps you at home if your not working, tireless and violent and racist... i.e divided...

Pot brings people together

lets face it if anyone gave a crap '___' would be legal under professional supervision and Meth manufacturing would warrent the death penalty...

people talk about bad trips lol... or jumping off buildings, that's what happens when you take dust and people call it lsd and when ravers die on X it's a terrible mixture of coke and heroin or meth and heroin...Which in that crowd, certainly was promoted and introduced by the establishment to ward of a second "hippie problem"

the biggest problem with dope being illegal is Americans have become retarded in terms of understanding what their dope does, what the dosage should be etc, etc, et al...

Crud too many bottles of asparin would kill you too, the war on drugs just makes people ignorant..

I see a nation of kids turning from Weed to Meth and you wonder why so many people are stupid lol, nice teeth guys... I mean, it's ridiculous, they predicted for 20 years this would happen and now it has... because our kids know so little about dope... you can offer a 15 year old meth and he doesn't know he will work allot have allot of sex and die often before the age of 35...

so stupid

Yes, mopus... They don't want "M" (we are abbreviating to avoid issues with search engines, but "M" is NOT Meth) legal for exactly the reasons you stated. It not only is GOOD for you (relieving stress, fending off the cancers they feed us genmod foods to promote in us, relieving asthma, reducing pain...) but it promotes acceptance and love.

Heaven forbid we love one another, accept one another's personal choices, behave well towards one another!

"Divide and conquer" is their motto, and with "M" they have a rough time dividing us.

I used to think that drugs like marijuana, mushrooms, and '___' would help everyone reach a higher level of spiritual understanding and also higher levels of thinking, but I realized now that it will only help those who are ready for that. Most people will smoke weed just to get high or trip just to trip, because they are dumbasses and are ungrateful for the mental tools at hand. Sure it is fun, but if you take advantage of the differences in perception and ways of thinking, you will understand things that you never would have sober. Especially psilocybin mushrooms, which causes intense, unstoppable, million-thought-a-minute thinking if one smokes marijuana while on it. However, that is only for those who are ready. If you are not mentally mature and don't know how to control/direct thoughts, it will probably be the worst experience of your life.

However, I do believe that the reason they have the war on drugs is to prevent people from achieving higher thinking.

The "just get high" creppola is a tactic to rename what is really going on. Those who "just want to get high" are using the drug to relieve stress. Safely and effectively with no debilitating side effects.

or trip just to trip, because they are dumbasses and are ungrateful for the mental tools at hand.

Wow. How compassionate and thoughtful. My guess is you don't use it yourself... Who are you to judge the subjective value of their "trip?"

Sure it is fun, but if you take advantage of the differences in perception and ways of thinking, you will understand things that you never would have sober.

In re what drug? And how can you evaluate what another has gained? What is wrong with becoming a laughing Buddha?

Especially psilocybin mushrooms, which causes intense, unstoppable, million-thought-a-minute thinking if one smokes marijuana while on it.

Been there, done that. I agree.

However, that is only for those who are ready. If you are not mentally mature and don't know how to control/direct thoughts, it will probably be the worst experience of your life.

If one has "the worst experience of [one's] life," one has had a learning experience. Who are you to determine the worth of that experience?

On top of that... How does one define the state of "readiness" so as to impart it to another contemplating the choice? In fact, I suspect it differs person to person.

However, I do believe that the reason they have the war on drugs is to prevent people from achieving higher thinking.

And I'm back to agreeing with you.
