Actually, I meant that I was beginning to lose faith, which is what a previous thread of mine implied. But you're right. If the membership is going to lead this site, then I'd like to know what the membership thinks if I am to remain.

Sorry, the Kernel's doctor forbids salt due to high blood pressure. No more Margarittas. The incongruity remains. Doe this mean you are taking everyone's posts with "a grain of salt"? If so, again, what is the point of this then?

Mr Penny, thank you for your contribution to a question that wasn't asked of you.

I was not going to answer this but I just got a nice u2u from another member and can't respond without another 4 posts.

There are many types of service. Prostitution comes to mind. Do I have to pay?

And thank you for the response that wasn't sought.

It would be ungentlemanly to NOT reply to your post. Similar to this one.

Why does your statements and efforts, even in that last thread appear to me..
.
That YOU are trying to turn it into a GROUP thing
Why are YOU trying to display your apparent "loss of faith" as a GROUP thing
It appears YOU are trying form a GROUP A subset of ATS To follow you

You are acting self centered and selfish and appears your trying to "click up"

"oh my friend got punted and a few others and now they want me to go
and walk away before i do that I'm going to get others to do it because I want to feel important and I don't anyone good to stay so I won't leave unless they go with me and unless I can't be ego centric in my efforts or get what I want I'll stay but all I'm going to do is present these things in effort to find out if i should stay and go ....blah blah blah.....ad infinitum

"WERE" their threads Quality YES ....are they gone YES

BBS's are not high school You don't need to choose between "Here and There"

Deny Ignorance Ras

What is the definition of a cult Ras ?

Are you following someone ?
Are you looking for followers?

Are you being manipulated?
Are you manipulating?

Deny ignorance

If continuing to insult me gets you to that exalted level......please, feel free. I'll bet if you tried really, really hard, you could come up with three more insults in order to achieve your goal. My....such lofty principles are to be admired.

Sorry Gemwolf....can't help it some times.

Ive lost faith in ATS a few times, but i didnt go starting threads about who did what when and why, i realized that the problem was mine, still is, because of meds im on i tend to get paranoid real quick, and find i need to take a break from ATS.

Sometimes i find things offend me and its usually silly things like debunkers, i go way over the top, again its not their fault, its mine.

We have a great site here, wont go so far as to say the best online, it is for what it is, conspiricies, UFOs, cover ups, a lot of members are sick and tired of the post and run fools which seem to be plaguing us right now, starting threads with the promise of information in whatever amount of time ETC, but they are slowly being dealt with.

If members have been Banned then im sure it was for a good reason, in the past ive sent u2u s to mods or owners asking if it was cool to post something debatable, if its ok then cool if its not then i wont even try to get past the T&C, and i knw personally of other members who have done the same.

It has to be said several ex members have gone out to deliberatly start a thread they know is going to get them Banned, the only reason for that is as other members have said so they can go and brag about it, thats the part that puzzles me, some of them obviously have a back up account they fall back on, i bet they dont brag about that do they?

I even get frustrated sometimes when i post threads that nobody ever bother to repond too, again my fault, because of meds sometimes i find it hard to make sense, i try so hard to share things that i find interesting, weird, and out of the ordinary and ill keep trying, ive been flamed, ignored, all kinds of things come everyones way at one time or another, not an excuse to rip into the site.

The sooner these people get off their high horses and accept responsibilty the better for everyone because they only have themselves to blame.

call me odd but if i owned something, and someone came along and tried to mess it up, I'd get pretty pissed at them.

likewise, saying to the judge that you murdered someone but thats ok because you "didn't like the rules" and then went on to bitch and moan about them all the way to the chair just makes you look like an ass.

so..like...anyways round you look at this all you can see are some people who are pissed that they didn't get their own way because they thought the rules didn't apply to them.

sour grapes. move on. lifes too short.

Me and Rasi disagree on topics A-Z, but here...

He has a point.

IF a member were to find info on an 'Compeating site' the Memeber WOULD NOT be allowd to post a link to that site, NIETHER would they be 'technicaly legal' to copy the information.

Then we have a hole in the system.

As for the drama in this thread, even Rasi would probaly agree this thread has gotten out of hand.

Let me plug the hole for you and restate what has been said, several times.

It is absolutely fine to post content and supporting links to sites on ATS. People do it all the time. The ones that we don't allow linking to are sites that contain content that is against our linking policy. Again, let me state that this content includes illegal activities, pornography, kiddie porn etc. If you can't post the content here, odds are you can't link to a site that contains that content either. (I am not saying the site rasobasi referred to contains any porn, kiddie porn etc so for those of you lurking around on your socks, relax).

There is no hole.

Personally, I think the original post should have been put in the ATS issues thread, along with the other 2 threads Raso started and, by posting them in their own thread, he created the drama he wanted.

I like ATS, Thats why I joined years ago.

Is ATS perfect?

Is anything perfect?

But are they Expected to be perfect?

The thing of it is just like a messy divorce, the day before the ban the people loved being members here, and now they cope with not being members here in there own way. Many post nasty things about ATS on other sites, they were wronged by ATS or ATS is this or that, but in the end, there is no proof of there accusations. Just the messy feelings about the separation.

The reasons I dig ATS is it's a pure CONSPIRACY Forum, we discuss Conspiracy theories and topics. If I wanted to discuss your new dog, or ignoring or being mean to your wife, or your current home improvement project, or what you had for dinner, or your new tattoo or anything else under the sun, well people is this what you would call a conspiracy discussion forum? or a general discussion forum?

ATS is not perfect, the Owners and Moderators are people like you and me, they are not infallible, and I'm sure mistakes are made, but in the end as far as I'm concerned ATS is as close to perfect as you can get, that is if you like Conspiracy discussion forums.

I am coming up to my fourth year on ATS and have yet to see any remote indications that the linking policy in the T&C prevents high quality ideas from being discussed. Instead my experience as a member points to a near endless supply of anti establishment anti US dribble lowering the quality of discussions . My impression is that a lot of the banned members and the likes of Lear have some growing up to do .

What a soap opera.
15 million billion sites that can be linked to.
But there is this one suspect site that is off limits because of behavior, or discussion of illegal things and this is a big deal?

Is there something extra-special-awesome about that site?
A treasure trove of knowledge? Maybe the server is under the Sphinx's paw?

www.woeisme.com?

It almost sounds like a place meant to attract people who have no regard for rules. And who don't have a problem openly discussing their own illegal activities. An FBI agents dream?

Hey everyone come on over and talk about all the bad stuff you do!
We'll just log your IP address and get back to you later. HAH!

My friend guinnessford seemd to have been banned. I wondered why. He was always kind and courteous and seemed to always stay nuetral.

After reading this post I'm aware of why he was banned.

I will not attach a link to any other consiracy site.. I think it's Unethical.

I also learned here no U2U's about them either.

ATS isnt a recruitment camp.

I think if guinnessford knew he may not have done this.

Hmm ....Let's see. ATS is the "Internet's largest and most popular discussion board community dedicated to the intelligent exchange of ideas and debate on a wide range of alternative topics " They achieved such status due to their style of management, and it clearly works quite well.

If you are not happy, you are free to go elsewhere for your fix. It is that simple. I have no issues with the T&C of the site and I agreed to abide by them when I joined. If you feel that you can do things better, then by all means start your own website, with your own rules.

It seems to me that you are hung up trying to include individuals that have been harmful to the success of ATS. No one is stopping you from going to other sites and browsing there. Perhaps it would be a better use of your time to create quality threads, instead of simply bashing the success of ATS.

I can read Science Magazine or National Geographic, and do not need to complain that The New York Times does not cover the social codes of New Guinea Tribesmen. Information is available to those who seek it. ATS can choose to exclude individuals or sites that they deem detrimental. The fact that ATS is the number one portal for alternative subjects, certainly means that they are doing something right.

As a rule we do not talk about the banning of individual members or the particulars involved. To be frank they serve no pourpose really than the usual rubbernecking you see at a highway accident.

Bannings can happen for reasons not readily apparent from someones posts. Its like u2u's etc are also covered by the T&C and violations of those carry the same penalties you would see on the board. Bannings only occur after a lengthy discussion of the staff as a whole including mods, supers, admin and site owners. Its always a last step and most are given a chance to come back several times before a banning is permanant. Some people simply cannot abide by the rules for behavior and decorum that make ATS what it is.

As a poster suggested above, ignorance of the rules is not an excuse in and of itself. The next time you get a speeding ticket let the cop know you were unaware of the speed limit. Id be curious to see how that one works out.

But I fear we have ventured off topic.
