Flags and stars, I flag a thread, because I personally found it to be of interest, and think others might as well... I star peoples posts not
neccessarily because I agree, but because it's well written and adds to the conversation. Oddly enough, sometimes it's posts I disagree with that
most often get my stars. Mr. Wiggens, as an example, I seldom agree with him, but he writes well, and thinks things through. Star worthy in my view,
even though I might not agree with him.
As for certain topics not getting the interest that other, shall we say less mainstream, subject matter gets. Threads, in my experiance, about the
economy and politics usually degenerate in short order to "It's Bushes fault" or as an alternative "It's Clintons fault". Personally, after
sixteen years of it in the media and for a shorter time here on ATS, I'm very tired of it...it takes a really good thread to get me to respond any
more...usually.
