Question about Avatars

Couple of questions:

1) What is the maximum hight and width your avatar can be?

2) Is there anyway you can increase space alotted for your avatar?

3) Where are some good places to pull avatars from?

4) Can you edit pictures to fit them for avatar size?

5) Can you make your own, if so, how?

4/5. Hell, I use paint to edit junk. See this avatar? Made it myself from a pic of a malkavian. Just grab your chocie pic, and fool with it in paint, cutting and shrinking as neccesary. Or get someone else to do it for you.

in the FAQ section it says avatars shouldn't be more than 150 pixels wide.

Completely off topic - I was seriously pissed when they missed off the Malkavians when they made 'Kindred : The Embraced'. Apparently the powers that be thought that to include such characters would be 'inappropriate'.

Again in your profile there is a place for an 'Avatar' and avatar is the image under your name. Check with your Admin about the size of your avatar, it's usually considered common courtesy to use one under 150 pixels wide.

draw your own scan it upload it on to ats. Do a search on Google or Yahoo for some images and get them from there

Another question, after uploading an image, how do I place it as my avatar?

BTW, thanks so far, you guys have been VERY helpful.

Step one: Upload image file.

Step two: copy address of image.

Step three: paste in "avatar URL" in your edit setting menu.

Voila, instant creamy goodness.

DJDOHBOY has a very nice tutorial on this and can be linked to by accessing it through the link lines( top of the screen) listed as:
complain/buddies/members/search/faq/tutorial/etc.

Click tutorial and a new window will open listing 4 helpful tutorials, including: "How to....Put Up An Avatar".

Ok I'm getting a wierd message when I try to add my avatar from the upload center. I've uploaded it, its below 160x320 and 75k, when I paste the upload adress then press edit profile, it gives me a wierd message and won't upload it. Any help?

Whats the path to the image? Im thinking the file name had a %20 in it. If so, rename the image, upload it, and try again.

hmm...strabge...my link didn't work. Since when have file extentions been case sensitive?
