Ok, fair enough.

I typically applaud members more who disagree with me and who challenge me on my beliefs. I'd rather not name names, but I will use one as an example that has come up recently where I've issued some applauses. The member SteveR and I rarely see eye to eye on much. Every few weeks we find ourselves in a solid discussion in complete disagreement. By the end of it, I believe we respectfully walk away possibly having learned a little something, and I make damn sure to offer an applause to recognize his efforts.

Quality speaks for itself. The rest is just details.

My advise would be to try and find someone with experience to tutor you.

maybe ask the question why do my threads suck ?

or re-read your threads and look for the gentle nudges
that the Mods and others have given you already
there in your threads
I've seen them
go look for them

I don't post for stars and applause
i just try to add my knowledge, wisdom perceptions,information and so forth

i don't look at how many points someone has....
i read their posts

As I stated from the first post, this is not about me not getting points. The name of the thread is "ATS STAFF BIAS?" not "Why am I not getting any points?", why is this so difficult for people to understand, I feel like I am talking to a wall here.

I was curious as to whether you can point to any thread that did not deserve to be debunked after evidence showed it was a hoax. The history of and very nature of some of these things generally always wind up being debunked, not by moderators only but by involved members.
To say or imply a conspiracy or unwritten law here to debunk is bizarre, given some subjects I still see open. Perhaps we can say a conspiracy to zealously use critical thinking, or maybe even common sense. If it is any consolation, some subjects closed here are open elsewhere, so we have a choice to go there, like serpo, and a few know why that is. There are websites, that are complicit in keeping some of these Cotton Mill generated type topics alive for profit. Obviously if profit were a motive, then ATS is doing a terrible job by shutting a thread down. Could the real motive be they found the truth and afterwards nature took its course.
They are left labeled such to help others passing by, and see how that debunking label "hoax was applied" after all evryones stateements are still there.
That truth seems self evident to me.

An applause is givin to people who do either a great thread, or write a great reply in a thread; NOT a mediocre reply or a mediocre thread is has to be great and really stand out, maybe you did not succeed at this when creating your UFO threads but you did good at the debunking one, i know this is a conspiracy site, but not everything is one.

The applause sysetem is designed to be bias!

ANY mod can issue an applause. For any reason.

They can give it to thier friends just for fun.
They can give it for Criticaly thinking about a topic.
They can give it for you helping out a new member.
They can give it for something truely clever...


Applause are given out by mods AT thier discretion.


By looking at the method of applause dispersal, it is in its most simple form, inherently bias...

So, not to much about to worry about there, as there are MANY mods, and thier inherent biasies should cover ALL topics here...


The Applause bias is not the bias you need to worry about here...
