The next time you hear a politician use the word 'billion' in a casual manner, think about whether you want the 'politicians' spending YOUR tax money.

A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but one advertising agency
did a good job of putting that figure into some perspective in one of its releases.

A. A billion seconds ago it was 1959.

B. A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.

C. A billion hours ago our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.

D. A billion days ago no-one walked on the earth on two feet.

E. A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours and 20 minutes, at the rate our government is spending it.

While this thought is still fresh in our brain, let's take a look at New Orleans. It's amazing what you can learn with some simple division

Louisiana Senator, Mary Landrieu (D),is presently asking the Congress for $250 BILLION to rebuild New Orleans.

Interesting number, what does it mean?

A. Well, if you are one of 484,674 residents of New Orleans (every man, woman, child),you each get $516,528.

B. Or, if you have one of the 188,251 homes in New Orleans, your home gets $1,329,787.

C. Or, if you are a family of four, your family gets $2,066,012.

STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY?
Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago,
and our nation was the most prosperous in the world.

We had absolutely no national debt,
had the largest middle class in the world,
and Mom stayed home to raise the kids .

What happened?
Can you spell 'politicians!'

And I still have to 'press 1' for English.

I hope this goes around the U S A at least 100 times!!

Screw New Orleans.

Don't forget Capital Gains Taxes. After your income is already taxed and you decide to invest whatever the government decides you get to keep, if that taxed money makes more money they will tax that too.

One billion?

I have spent many days wondering what I would do with 10 thousand, 50 thousand, 100 thousand and even a million. I don't think I could imagine anything I could do with a billion dollars. Its just too much for even me to play with, maby in my whole lifetime. And a billion dollars would grow a garden in every backyard or back patio in the US with enough left over for a couple bullets to hunt for our food.

Why arn't they helping their people with all that money instead of finding better ways to kill us?

Actually I know what I could do with 999 Trillion. Seriously.
In the end of the day you may ask what I would spend it on...in the short it would be to adjust my way of living which would dramatically impact and change society.

Starting off I would have the biggest, private owned, scientific & technological company - for myself yes, but of course the impact would have to reach out to the world or it wont benefit me either. (We dont live in capsules, and it may sound selfish how I put it...but Im not always the best with words)

There are good ways to spend it - just not sure its being put together for a collective good purpose.

More like companies fighting each other and competing instead of collaborating and moving forward. From everything starting from technology to healthy living.

But anyway, one can dream of the world they would live in...and trillions would only be the beginning...well, actually if the world were to change, you could break away from trillions and break things back down to a common denominator while being truly advanced. But that means evolving ones ego past itself...not into itself.
