Martin,

You raised a good point on the discussions of the price of oil, that the ever increasing price is not just been driven up by demand, and that the price of oil is being speculated on, and a great deal of the speculation is on price of crude oil going up and not down.

Is this the price of a free ecomomy?

Hey guys, thanks for the chance to be involved with the show. Top notch outfit you folks are running.

If anybody else thinks they have an idea, just contact Justin or Martin and go from there. It's pretty painless and these guys are great to work with. The show will only benefit from some more member content.

I think people need to understand that the every increasing cost of crude oil and hence the price of gas/petrol is not the fault of their government. While tax is charged on the fuel, I think people need to understand that the oil companies determine the base cost of fuel supplied to gas/petrol stations and then tax is applied to the base cost.

As I said in the show, some of the increase is due to an increasing demand and a static supply. Despite the fact the some members of OPEC have committed to increase supply of crude oil following the recent meeting in the Middle East.

The major reason for the increase in the cost of crude, is speculation on the price of crude oil and that this speculation is on the cost of crude continuing to increase, which is in the interests of producing countries as well.

The military activities in the Middle East only helps with the speculation.

What is interesting is that the price of gas goes up in line with increase in the crude price but the gas at the pumps was a leadtime of several weeks so the cost of crude was much lower when the refinering started, so it seems that the oil companies and our Government are making profits and taxes out of this.

Gaotu789, welcome to the team and for all those wishing they could do a segment, just remember that Justin, Gaotu789 and I took the plunge.

And look where we are now.
