There wouldn't be very much video of the band anyway
every time the lighting guy moved one of the Spotlights,
the camera guys would focus on it... get all shaky .
and start zooming in and out....
...
and all you hear is" Wow man look...... another UFo
no seriously It gotta be a sports model".......
the other guy would be going "no way man it's a weather balloon"

and if the Goodyear blimp did a flyby the crowd would panic and bolt
thinking that disclosure was happening right over their heads.

Half the fans would be confessing their abduction experiences the next day
or posting the cell phone movies or pics.

Sorry been awake too long and I got go change the tape in the video camera thats been aimed out the window all night.
later
Great thread

Now, imagine this! As they pan with their video cameras it will pass over the sound engineer. staring at his console and they will say "DAMN!! There's a face of a man there!! I am telling you, there is a face in that picture!!"

Look at all those dials and sliders! Must be some sort of UFO - Underdeveloped Frequency Operator!! AMN - Look at that guitar shaped object!

Anyways
we are digressing but was a cool discussion hehehe

I was thinking - and no, it didn't hurt at all, BUT, imagine this - seriously - if we could get something in terms of a "remote" band or virtual band - picture this, we choose a song TOGETHER, perhaps get a tempo for the song, how many bars etc. Then, all the musicians play their "part" i.e. Bass player, guitar, lead, drums, sax, etc etc etc and then someone puts it all together?? (MY IDEA LOL - copyright shearder@ ATS!!
)

I wonder how it will come out? Oh just a thought LOL - i guess it would be interesting to say the least!!

AN ATS Global Orchestra!!!

A lot of my work is done this way these days.
It's sure beats having to lug a studio half way around the world..

The size of pro audio files is growing faster than the Internet bandwidth available now though.It's becoming a little prohibitive with 96khz multichannel processing..owcha..

But on an 'ATS band' scale 44khz mono mp3's will get a cd quality result once it's mixed.
You can count me in for any missing instruments or mixdown production.
Always up for some inspiration.

HEY AGENT_T!! I am glad you found this buddy!! I am sure you will be our sound engineer LOL

What is the best recording proggy to use for this? Will Audacity cut it? (excuse the pun)

AUDACITY = AMAZING..
Especially the 5 band multicompressor.
I use this to add the final polish to a track.Very easy to use, great interface and meters.

You know the rubbish you first recorded on??.. tape based 4-track.. that's small regular tape not the 2" studio stuff.
(You got more hiss than recording and drop-ins were done by using your toe to press play while you were playing.
)

Well when you made the first jump from hardware to software and the top of the line(and bottom,coz there was only one) was around £3000 back when money was worth something.. (you could get an apartment for £5000)

Audacity would have sold for around £10,000,000.

I do the work on Sonar Producer tho.. coz It reminds me of dear old Steinberg Pro-24..on an Atari 1040k and the dongle that kept falling out.. and
Rick Dangerous.

I'm much closer to music then anyone I know. The stuff practically bursts out of me sometimes, lol.

I can sing pretty well, and harmonize with voice good enough as well. When it comes to writing the stuff though, I'm lost. All I see is a bunch of lines and some weird symbols scrawled on them.

Well what i need to do is setup something on the PC where i can record from the PA into the PC. That isn't the problem, it's time LOL

But i use Audacity and, though i haven't gone into it's full functionality, i quite like the ease of it.

The only instrument I can play is the xylophone. That is pretty embarrassing. One bar above admitting to playing the accordion.

If you can play a xylophone; you can play the vibes and that is one of the coolest instruments know to man.
