Feds Raid Blackwater's Armory In Firearms Probe

rawstory.com

Federal agents have raided an armory owned by security contractor Blackwater Worldwide.

The North Carolina-based company said the raid was part of an investigation into a deal that allowed a local sheriff's office to store high-powered assault rifles at the company's armory at its headquarters in Moyock.

The infamous Merc-Corporation Blackwater, back in the news again...As usual, shady circumstances. Pretty crazy that all these mercs are operating freely in mainstream U.S.A...Sign of the times I guess...

Blackwater spokeswoman Anne Tyrrell says that investigators with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives searched Blackwater's armory Tuesday.

So I guess we have to wait and see if they found anything other than the Sheriffs department weapons. this is a situation that's hard to look at from a neutral perspective. If you're a supporter of BW, than it seems that they're just doing a favor to the Sheriffs dept, by letting them store their "high powered assault rifles" there. A BW critic however, would first ask why the hell the Sheriffs dept. needs to store their weaponry in a Blackwater facility. Which, is precisely my question (can you tell I'm a critic?).

Some would say good job to the Government for keeping an eye on this organization, others would say it's a puppet show. Nobody can say for sure at this point in time, but inline with my other views of various government agencies (keep in mind I'm pretty jaded at this point), I'm more inclined to think it's more of a "made for reality" drama intended to offer the illusion of oversight. Kind of like the illusion of protection of our 2nd amendment rights that was recently served up by the supreme courts recent decision.

Iffy on the stance to take on this. Different alarms are going off inside my head on different issues about.

Maybe there is some sort of issue between the Sheriff's dept. and the Feds? So the Feds would seize the high powered weapons owned by the Sheriff's dept.?

Some sort of example of Feds attacking state's and local govt.'s rights maybe?

Perhaps Blackwater could end up serving as an example of the people's rights to organize and have their own militias becoming removed from existence?

Although of course rationality still must come into play here, there was most likely some sort of logical reasoning into why the Feds raided Blackwater.
Somebody has been giving away some of their toys illegally to the highest bidder? Toys out on loan? Possession of some larger toys like rocket launchers, heavy machine guns, etc.?

I don't get this at all.

Blackwater has full automatic weapons possesion certificates, has a large amount of weaponry in storgae and this is just a WTF moment.

What the hell are BATF doing raiding them ?

Some ones gonna have to have a bloody good explanation for this one to Blackwaters lawyers.

lmao - I wonder what the BATF agents thought when they saw the miniguns hanging off the helicopters ? lmao.

Ooops...seems I posted something that was already posted yet this post didn't show up when I did a search. Sorry!

'll just put my comment here.

Maybe this is a start and will open them up to a complete and independent audit of all of their financial records, which would probably show everyone that they are into some very questionable, if not completely illegal activity.

Hmmm...surely they were vetted before they were awarded all those lucrative government and corporate contracts?

Some good points fellas...The Conspiracy theorist in me gets the creeps that a Merc co. and Sheriff's are being linked together. When we've got paramilitary excercises being carried out on domestic soil and multi-jurisdictional LE operations being funded by DHS grants, things start to be appearing to form a pattern in recent months IMO...

Could turn out to be nothing, but still something to keep an eye on...

that gives me the creeps too...

.Federal law stipulates that machine guns can be purchased, so long as the $200.00 machine gun transfer tax is paid, and so long as the machine gun was manufactured BEFORE 1986. Also, there are significant hurdles involved with the entire process.

Unfortunately for Blackwater though, in North Carolina is unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation to manufacture, sell, give away, dispose of, use or possess machine guns, sub-machine guns, or other like weapons. (Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 14-409).

But someone said you can apply to the BATF for a federal firearms license to own fully automatic military grade assault rifles. Maybe they didn't. Bwahaha.

I have to say that this is funnier than Hell, if you think about it for a minute. The organization that ATS'ers consider being a part of the program to subvert the U.S. Constitution through their actions are raided by the Feds because of weapons. Think about that just for a minute will you, that this may in fact be something to make Blackwater look comical and less dangerous like George W Bush and his seeming "Howdy Doody" appearance of being an idiot, but at the same time it is showing they have to obey someone at least.

This could be a ploy to make us think they are less of a hostile threat, or it could be that they are in fact answerable underneath the BATF. I'll be doing some information searching for sure.

Hey...infighting happens. Plus, not everyone is too thrilled about what's happening, whether they're in LE or not. Right? I don't find it odd at all.

If the feds knew about the arrangement 'for a long time' as stated by Tyrrell, perhaps this was just an excuse used by the feds to execute a fishing expedition. Maybe they had alternative reasons for wanting to inventory a Blackwater armory.

Dunno really, just grasping at straws here. The article does not offer much information.

The Sheriffs department probably didn't pay the Feds off.

Granted, BW has been training local police forces across the States in what some would refer to marshal law style training. (there are some threads about this I'll dig up).

With this, storing high powered weapons (M4?) under the same roof as BW: officialdom and Mercs sharing the same dinner plate - suspect.

Were they trying to hide the weapons from prying eyes, a 'deal' is mentioned in the article? Would be interesting to establish what this deal incorporated - I scratch your back and we'll watch yours!!

it is interesting indeed. According to what I have read the BATF took weapons in all from BW. The weapons were confiscated I believe because BW bought them for the sheriff's dept.

I think the confiscation had to do with BW buying them for the Sheriff, but I do not really get it.

Blackwater has many class 3 certificates as well as DOD clearances for all manner of weaponry. Its going to be real interesting to find out what triggered this 'investigation'! Somebody stepped on they're gonads on this one folks.

If Blackwater work for the highest bidder, what's stopping China from sub-contracting them? And from inside the USA too

The Prince family are too loyal to the Republican party to go down that line, but interesting concept.

My question would be - who would Blackwater work for if the Democrats are in power??

Interesting.

But Wait! Haven't we been told that Blackwater is a murderous money-grabbing bunch of mercenaries that are in cahoots with Halliburton, Cheney, and Bush? And aren't they the ones that will escort us at gunpoint to the Red and Blue cattle cars to whisk us away to the Halliburton Concentration Camps scattered across our nation, where we will be enslaved, never to be heard fom again?

How can they possibly come under scrutiny with such backing?

And the story is from rawstory.com? What a surprise!

And all we can say is "Sign of the times I guess... "???

Very interesting. We know that the CEO of Blackwater is a right-wing christian nutjob who think that Bush is a god and probably think that the democrats are evil...

It will be interesting to see if Obama still give them contracts, or they move out of the country to work for an enemy of america or they just resist and take over the government.

Since the county sheriff is supposed to be the highest authority in a county, and a last line of defense against state or federal encroachment, I find BW having dealings with any sheriffs dept. very disturbing. Like others, I also sense that this story is for public consumption only.

If the Republicans loose this election, a lot of contracts (worth billions) may go up in smoke - watch this space people.
