Thanks Wolfie. ATS and the internet (in general) really offer us great tools that ufologists decades ago could only dream of!

Hi, I could help out with Dutch and French translations.
German too, to a lesser extent and with the help of a dictionary.

post by Deaf Alien Yes the pdf's are the problem.
If the PDF you want translated is on the www, then go to Google and type/paste the exact web address of the PDF into the search window. when Google
finds that page, there will be a link you can click on that says "view as HTML". if you hit that link, it will transfer the PDF into HTML and then
you can copy and paste it into the translation tool of your choice. This works almost all the time, with only a few exceptions. Try it out and see if
it works for you!

Hi there, I doubt there will be any call for this, but I can offer Afrikaans translations. Usually anything in our media is picked up by English and
Afrikaans media. South Africa has 11 official languages so things get a little messy.

I speak, write and read fluently in Russian, English and Latvian.
Latvian - mother tongue
English - I live in England for 5 years
Russian - my second language - had to learn it in school and speak daily as 1/2 of population in Latvia is Russian

I'll (humbly) nominate myself for translations from Japanese, though I think they are more interested in ghosts than UFOs right now. I have several
years of experience in this area, and I can translate written documents or audio files, hopefully they won't be too technical though.

FIFIGI & LovelyDoom,
Welcome aboard...
Russian, Latvian, and Japanese are just what we are looking for!
Afrikaans?? Hehe you never know Delta...can't hurt.
Thanks for the updated list Internos. We aren't showing Arthx who can also do Russian. That makes two Russian translators.
Here is what I'd really like to see >>> Chinese
Also,
With all the recent UFO activity over Iran it would be nice to find someone who
can do Arabic and/or Persian.
Others (of high interest) could include Bengali, Korean, and Vietnamese. Don't be afraid to ask though. Afrikaans is only only
spoken by 6-7 million people, however there's no reason for us to not be as thorough as possible.

bene and WeSbo.. thanks. People can become busy so it's good to have a few
members per flag (on the major languages at least).
Sleepy- we can set you up with a Mexican flag indicating your specialty
in that dialect.

Yeah, I love the idea. I can't wait to get cracking at foreign UFO stories.. something I haven't really done past learning the meaning of ONVI, even
though I am a linguist.

I am becoming quite fluent in ebonics, and I'm from Arkansas originally so I can help out with southern twang as well.
Seriously though...
I just want to thank all those that have offered up their help. This is what makes this forum great in my opinion.
