You know that feeling you get, when you've just heard an increddible song? I get that feeling at least 10 times a day when I turn on the radio, or
pop in an old CD I burned from years ago...
I was listening to an old CD I found in the trunk of my car, it was comprised of Love Songs...mostly Lifehouse (I always feel their music has such a
'lovey' feel to it...) and some other bands. It brought up some memories of past loves, and experiences... It got me thinking...what is my favorite
Love Song? I don't know, I can't pick just one! There are so many great love songs out there!
So my question to you is: What is your Favorite Love Song and why? Does the song hold any special meaning to you? How does it make you feel when you
hear the song? You can have multiple songs - I know I do!
I'll start off with one of my favorite Lovey Songs...
"Everything" by Lifehouse.
For me, this song has many meanings... It reminds me of the Love I had for someone in Highschool...It brings me back to those days sitting in his car,
listening to music. Those nights when we would talk all night on the phone. It reminds me of our time together.
This song reminds me of the first taste of Love I ever had...
I do have multiple favorite love songs... but few are as meaningful to me as "The Sweetest Thing" by Juice Newton. I've had a more than a few
trickles down my cheeks over the years, longing to be loved like that by someone. *Sniff...
Definitely not my idea of a love song AD, but that is so totally one of my favorite tunes. Def Leppard SO rocks, and this is one of their very best.
Now I need to go dig up "Animal" and jam on that one too... =.=
Tuesday's gone ... Where to start? This song reminds me of my most recent failure in love. It is beautifully written and seems to speak directly to
how I feel. Having to leave someone when there is nothing obviously wrong, there are no major problems, there are no real reasons not to stay
together except that things just aren't right. The realization that love has run it's course and the flame is extinguished ... Tuesday's gone
and
Black. I couldn't find a great copy of the original, but Aaron Lewis does a good cover. This is my first love. The learning together, the
discovery, the pain and the confusion. The partnership I felt and the tilted world I've live on ever since. "You'll be the sun in somebody else
sky"
and
Come back. Acknowledgment that some love never dies. I learned a long time ago that some people have such a big impact on your life that a piece of
your heart will be dedicated to them forever. No matter how many years and how many miles separate you, you'll always love them.
and last, but not least
Bother. A powerful tune. It's what you feel when it's all over, when you've tried your best and have failed, when the world has turned against
you and even your friends seem like enemies. The song speaks to you when you are at your lowest, when apathy threatens rule your existence. It's a
dangerous place, but nevertheless, it's an important place. It's where you go to conquer your demons ... Or perish if you're not strong enough.
