SETI BOINC Question.

Topic started on 6-3-2004 @ 01:07 PM by DeltaChaos

My progress on work units crunched by BOINC seems to be very slow. Are these WUs just really big or what?

Also, I have contracted the Hidrag virus. Does anyone know how to get rid of it for good? I deleted the registry key, and I can't delete svchost.exe or it shuts down the computer. I'm using the free AVG software, and it says files infected with hidrag cannot be healed.

I know hidrag doesn't really do anything, but could it somehow be slowing down my computer?

Thanks,
DeltaChaos

The latest version of Seti has debugging code in it, so the workunits will take much longer to complete. How did you get this virus? I couldn't find anything about this virus on symantec's site or AVG's site.

When I had BOINC running, it took a while to finish due to the debugging code in Seti@home v2.25.
