Hats banned from Yorkshire pubs over CCTV fears

Pubs in Yorkshire have been ordered to ban people from wearing flat caps or other hats so troublemakers can be more easily recognised.

The Park Hotel in Wadsley, Sheffield, is the latest to be asked to impose the rule by senior police officers.

Mark Kelly, the landlord said: "Police asked us to ensure that everyone removes headgear.

The measure, designed to prevent people from obscuring their faces from CCTV cameras, has been questioned by Barnsley's former Test umpire Dickie Bird, 75, well-known for his favoured white flat cap.

Hang on to your hats UK, your officials do not seem to care much for them...

I suppose an outdoor hat ban will be up next? Plenty more camera's outside which may be missing out on a clear view of your face due to that hat perched upon your head. Perhaps sunglasses should be considered as well, and scarves, scarves could remind people of terrorists as WELL as obscuring parts of your face.

Is it time to put your caps up for grabs on Ebay?

Meh, this is silly.

Presumably if you keep wearing your hat it won't matter because the cameras won't be able to see who you are!

Oops, did I just ruin the initiative?
