Well it's good, In Theory.

Unfortunately, people don't care what history says (hence why things repeat) and will deny what you say as right and sue and probably have a lot of support too.

Norway also has such vast oil reserves that the money from the sale of oil is enough to pay for every socialized program. Even the fairy tale prison.

So it is also ironic that it is the Liberals that bloke the drilling of oil in America..

Oil is only one of the resources Norway has, in fact Canada enjoys all the resources Scandinavian countries as a whole, and Norway for example, enjoy, but whereas we only get a silver star, they get gold.

www.theodora.com... CIA stats

The Norwegian economy is a prosperous bastion of welfare capitalism, featuring a combination of free market activity and government intervention. The government controls key areas, such as the vital petroleum sector, through large-scale state enterprises. The country is richly endowed with natural resources - petroleum, hydropower, fish, forests, and minerals

en.wikipedia.org...

The Economy of Sweden is modern and highly industrialised. It has a modern distribution system, excellent internal and external communications, and a skilled labor force. Timber, hydropower, and iron ore constitute the resource base of an economy heavily oriented toward foreign trade. Main industries include motor vehicles, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals and forestry.

www.multied.com...

Finland has an industrial economy based on abundant forest resources, capital investments, and high technology. Traditionally, Finland has been a net importer of capital to finance industrial growth; in recent years it has become a net exporter of capital. Finland has one of the best performing economies in the EU and Europe.

The Finnish economy has made enormous strides since the severe recession of the early 1990s. Finland successfully joined the euro zone and has outperformed euro-area partners in terms of economic growth and public finance

www.voxeu.org.../1199

Norway’s wealth: Not just oil

Norway, of course, always had its natural resources; but it was only with the advent of educated labour that it became possible for the Norwegians to harness those resources on a significant scale. Human capital accumulation was the primary force behind the economic transformation of Norway; natural capital was secondary. Human capital accumulation can lift living standards without natural capital (as in Japan and Singapore, for example), but natural capital is of little help or worse without the human resources necessary to harness it (consider Congo).

Norway’s oil management regime

Norway’s sensible approach to oil wealth management deserves the attention it has received in other resource-rich countries around the world. Norway’s approach has several key features:

* From the beginning, before the first drop of oil emerged, the oil and gas reserves within Norwegian jurisdiction were defined by law as common property resources, thereby clearly establishing the legal rights of the Norwegian people to the resource rents.
* On this legal basis, the government has absorbed about 80 percent of the resource rent over the years, having learnt the hard way in the 1970s to use a relatively small portion of the total to meet current fiscal needs. Most oil revenue is set aside in the state petroleum fund, recently renamed the pension fund to reflect its intended use.
* The government laid down economic as well as ethical principles (commandments) to guide the use and exploitation of the oil and gas for the benefit of current and future generations of Norwegians.

Having oil has helped Norway, but diversification throughout Scandinavian countries is far more important than that one resource.

Seems turning out highly educated people to learn how to use their resources to create economy is the key secret.

Well, if people realise that the idea is good in theory perhaps they will get of their keysters and stop supporting ideas that are bad in practice. One can but hope.

Why not do away with money entirely ..go straight to Utopia..
Money is a paradigm , it has the power that we give it..and when we choose to exchange value goods and services for radishes or carrots..then..the paradigm is broken. Good luck with that socialism thing.

I wish we could, because then it would boil down to bullies and those who want peace.

Your very statement gives the possibility for a dictator to rise.

We already have a dictator: the FED/Cheney/Bush/Bank of England.

What those families have done to get themselves into the top 1% of income is make money from the work of others, almost always going for low salary, high profit corporate structures. If you think that by defending the top you're helping the bottom then you've bought into all the lies corporate marketing has brainwashed society with... the rich are parasites of almost everyone else ... their existance has a negative impact on society.

Cap it high, but cap wealth, and society will work better as long as there is transparancy in the distribution of money and in how it relates to actual work ... owning golden shares is not work.

I totally agree with you.

this creates the fear to work. Why work if big brother will just take it away when you get to the top?

Look at the 99% of mankind, look at your mortgage or rent or gas or food or health costs ... last time I checked, big brother Capitalist pig already owns all the central banks, international banks, oil companies, utility companies, etc.

...and YOU my friend, by supporting the NWO / Fed /Bank of England --who OWN all the capital -- are simply helping exterminate yourself.

Why not ? I'm sure Somalians or Ethiopians would be more that happy to trade a truck for some food.

How about we make the FED PAY US the 9 trillion dollars they stole from us, and give a trillion divided among the poorest Somalians and Ethiopians.

AFTER ALL THERE'S REPORTED HUGE OIL RESERVES IN ETHIOPIA. But we dumbed down to be expected to know THERE'S TOO MUCH DAM* OIL IN THE WORLD.

The oil speculators and FED and BANK of ENGLAND AND TERRORIST AUTHOITARIAN RULERS OF SAUDI ARABIA AND THE BUSH CLAN THAT MUST BE DIVESTED FOR THERE TO BE PEACE IN THE WORLD. ...and of course all the other international bankers too, that form the central bank interlocking directorate -- known as NWO -- and the banks they own that own the oil companies and utility companies and defense companies.

What a racket. A pyramid scheme of inflation/deflation -- and all the time, the private shareholders of the central banks get richer and richer on our blood and sweat.

I don't think the lies, deception, constant fear mongering, being forced to work to survive, being ignorantly blissful, and the fact that a small group of elite's who control our economic's and world policy equates to freedom in any sense of the word.

I think about 6.9999999 billion people out of 7 billion, including me, would agree with you.

what I'm saying is: if we stopped major causes of suffering, and if everyone chipped in according to their means, even the very rich and the very poor, people would have the health (physic and mental) to compete in a free market world.

totally agree.

a good base level, where peoples most basic needs are assured will only stabilize the free market.

totally agree

as you said: if people aren't forced into criminal activity to survive and aren't forced to just drop into hospitals dying, we'd have a budget surplus and a far better quality of life, the whole system wide. how do suicidal thoughts, and feelings of hopelessness help motivate anyone?

totally agree with you ...AS LONG AS WE NATIONALIZE THE FED AND MAKE IT A PUBLICLY OWNED BANK NOT A PRIVATELY OWNED ONE -- a publicly owned central bank CHARGES NO INTEREST. WHY WOULD WE CHARGE OURSELVES INTEREST when are reach into our right pocket to loan our left pocket a dime???????

No. We nationalize the FED and you and everyone else get a million dollars cash free.

You can keep working or not BUT EVERYONE gets the same wage, no matter what their job is.

If you don't work, that's okay, because you still have the option to if you want. Your choice.

And, because its a democratic socialism, 1% of the population that owns 99% of the world IS DIVESTED, given a million dollars, and sent on their way. NO MORE 1% OF THE WORLD OWNING 99% OF THE WORLD. PERIOD.

All the money and wealth of the world is divided up equally and ONLY THE CAPITALIST BANKERS and THEIR holdings are divested.

This is not a post attacking or lessening you in any way, it is directed against the private shareholdes of the FED who are the money-issuing class who OWN the capital and merely rent it to you.

Why would a stranger care about you ? Maybe because together we are stronger. The belief that we alone can take care of our selves is foolish and arrogant. If a major crisis breaks out (and it looks like it will) people with an individualistic mentality will die first. Killed by others who think just like them.

Exactly right. You learned that. So did I. So does everyone. It IS worth the saliva because people do learn, as long as they not mind-controlled or taught bullsh*t.

Keep up your hope and keep spreading the truth. If you don't, who will?

Amen. I'm tired of people acting like solitary animals. We are social animals. In the real world, where green bits of paper are what they are, (just pieces of green paper guys...), social animals that think they can go solo tend to die.
Rock Punk, I just can't wait for the credit crunch to come and wipe that smug, selfish, egocentered smile off your face. You'll be all alone in that BIG house, with two cars that don't work, probably shooting anything that comes in range, just in case it might want to take all that precious paper in your safe ! And once you've shot a couple guys who just wanted to know if you were doing ok, people will get pissed off and return the compliment.
People in general, and americans in particular, are always so concerned about their freedom. Well catch this. In your free economy, my freedom is equal to the amount of cash I have on my account. Which is somewhere close to 0.
Your free economy has screwed up so much of the world that I am not free to travel to certain countries because they are so poor that I have a 50% chance of getting myself kidnapped there.
Because of your free economy my grandfather is slowly dying. Some rich guy decided it cost to much to remove that asbestos. Screw the stupid dockers who sweat blood for him for 40 years, and made him wealthy, he needed a second car for his wife. The free economy has given my grandfather the freedom to die. Thank you Adam Smith.
And ultimatly, our free society comes down to just that. Work, consume, shut up, and die. Hell we'll even charge you to bury your dead.
In my eyes, people who go along with this parody of a system, and believe that it is freedom, do not deserve to be free. And luckily for them, will never know what freedom means. Because they would be terrified.

We are social beings, but we require an alpha male/female due to how we evolved. so that just goes and takes a big sh*t over pure socialism.

Maybe you prefer alpha people, but I don't. I like gentle folks. I don't need an alpha, they're usually a pain in the butt. Nor do I need an alpha leader ... it just that alphas tend to be bullies and push gentle people around.

The gentle people don't require alphas to lead them, rape them, murder them, exploit them, or extort them.

Personalty traits such as alpha, have nothing to do with democratic socialism that provides financial equality for everyone.

Are you saying the alpha-neanderthals would require a police state to control them, or they would become a police state of death-squads? What are you saying, we can't control the alphas?

Sorry about your grandfather. Try and research if there are any energy healers in his proximity, it's a long shot, but when hope is gone there is nothing lost in going for the extreme solution. And this is a universe of possibility, not impossibility...

Funnily enough the alphas control themselves somewhat. There is always more A-types than a-type positions so they end up gunning for each other more often than not. A lot of counterculture types, no innuendo intended against yourself, are just disenfranchised alphas.

Nature is all about checks and balances. Self regulating systems. I find it fun.

Capping wealth at the very top won't remove any incentive at the bottom or the middle. Fear to work? People will always work if they have a desire or a necessity.

Agreed. It's the natural state of people to garden, cook, raise families, eat, hunt, build and f***.

[Capping wealth is for] the sociopathic elite at the top, the psychologically deranged that will not be happy until they own everything and everyone, because you've taken away their power. What it does remove is the possibility of totalitarism, as you've just created a successfull social check and balance for it.

Totally agree. By the way, psychopath is the short form of psychologically deranged ... it implies serial and genocidal murders like Bush and Cheney.

THEY APPEAR NORMAL -- but friends, 6 U.S. soldiers commit suicide every day because of Bush and Cheney's war profiteering ... I mean, would you like to be ordered to mutilate and torture and dismember innocent babies, kids and teens for the FED sociopathic and psychopathic interlocking central bank directorate that owns all the banks that own all the oil companies and utility companies and defense companies AND LAUNDER 2 trillion dollars of drug money every year AND train and finance ALL THE TERRORISTS?
