Terrible scream in the woods

Maybe it was this.

that sound gave me the jibblies when I first heard it

Please stop the music. There is screams always in the woods and we really shouldn't even be talking about this.

My guess is Opossum or Possum. They are super protective
and have a 'beast' of a scream/call. Maybe you were close
to it's tree. Their scream will scare the .... out of you, and
they give you no warning, i.e. they stay perfectly still
and just let it rip!!

im very experienced in the woods several of the friends i was with were also experienced huntsmen
logging in thousands of hours of time in the woods and hearing many weird things between all of us we never heard anything like this.
oh yeah.....the woods are not replete with screams either

just would like to say that i have heard a couple owls scare the crap out of me. they are way more frightening than that elk call. well i searched the owl and screech owl voices a while but came with nothing satisfactory or comparable to what i heard so no links yet. i am not in any way attempting to say that this is what watcher of the skies heard!!! i have heard some crazy arss shiiite one time that i have absolutely no solid explanation to. best thing i can come with is that it was a pack of coyotes with one of their members caught in a trap or somehow injured it was TOTALLY INSANE. numerous whacked screams, yelps, and howls.



it was either coyotes or the resurection of an indian bury ground.
