GAO Report Faults Post-'Surge' Planning

The administration lacks an updated and comprehensive Iraq strategy to move beyond the "surge" of combat troops President Bush launched in January 2007 as an 18-month effort to curtail violence and build Iraqi democracy, government investigators said yesterday.

While agreeing with the administration that violence has decreased sharply...many other goals Bush outlined a year and a half ago in the "New Way Forward" strategy remain unmet.

Surprise Surprise Surprise!

I do not get how people in political offices such as this and the media have not yet caught on that Bush DOES have a plan it is called OCCUPATION.

Of course he has no post-surge strategy other than 'keep on keeping on' or is it 'bring 'em on'.

The best we can hope for is that Bush pulls all the troops into the newly built bases.
