I noticed that a few old threads have seen the light of day since the tagging thing started.
People start reading the old gold and just have to reply.

I've learned so much about ATS from reading the old threads, and the board has changed and grown in such a short time.

Anyone know the total number of members today ?
And is it a realistic number ?

EDIT: Here's a trip back in time.

57614, and growing. It's on the Main Forum Page, listed under the "Discussion Board Statistics" section on the left.

The 71806, does that mean the number of accounts that have been registered with ATS?

Im alittle confused with the 6000 members, what does the 71806 stand for?

Yeah, though not all of them have posted anything. I don't believe you're counted as a member until you post. Some people register to not see ads, but never say anything.

Look at the date on the first post.

loam why were you marked as Banned Member earlier today?

Bright red bar like yours with a banned member tag really stands out.

Must have been a mistake.

I'm here now.

Yeah something was up. I can see now you have the member tag instead of Member.

Somebody is messing with you

Are there statistics available for ACTIVE members? lets say in the last month? or year?

You would have to take into account the banned members, the one-time posters that don't return, and of course the sock puppets out there. And as previously mentioned, the ones that register but not post anything.

It would probably be a major undertaking to determine how many members are active as of today....

Like this thread, loam has risen from the grave.

I'm not sure what that whole ban thing was about. There was some wonkiness on the site earlier, and that may have had something to do with it.

I'm pretty sure no one wanted to ban our beloved loam!

It's neat to see how ATS has grown.

Soon, instead of 6000 registered members, there will be 60,000.

This should be a pretty good clue to how many members have been on the boards in the last 30 days. This is the last line from the last u2u I received from Admin. 25/3/2006 at 07:49 AM

(This is a mass-U2U sent to 3962 ATS members. Please do not respond to this U2U as the account, ATS Admin is only used for sending these mass-U2U messages.)

That's from the bottom of the mass mailings in the u2u system. But the text was a bit different just a few weeks ago.

(This is a mass-U2U sent to 3503 ATS members who have been on our board in the past 30 days. Please do not respond to this U2U as the account, ATS Admin is only used for sending these mass-U2U messages.) sent: 2/1/2006 at 02:39 PM

ATS has many members, and thousands of people visit the site on a regular basis without signing in, but I think this is an indicator of the number of active posting members.

Membership here looks like it's exploding out of control!

At this rate I wonder if the forums will branch off into their own sites.

I highly doubt that would happen. Separation would only diminish exactly what ATS is.

Ah, you're probably right. But I could do without the...............On second thought, no.
