Spencer Tracy and I are hosting a trip to Las Vegas and I wanted to get some great Vegas stories here or even just some cool places to go while you're there. I have never been and I want to get the inside scoop.

I do love me some vegas. I live in Los Angeles so constantly look for any excuse to go to vegas.

My best vegas story that I can post without violating the T&C would be the one from years back when a bunch of friends and I were hanging out at Caesers Palace. I walked over to a bank of pay phones to snag an ashtray and when I looked down there was three hundred bucks laying right on an open yellow pages (guess what letter the phone book was opened to). Of course I took the three hundred, vegas rules and all.

After buying a few rounds I strolled over to the roullette table and turned it into fifteen hundred dollars and of course I was smart enough to walk away.

Wasn't smart enough to stay away and lost it all over the course of the weekend but hey, it didn't hurt as I never actually gambled with anything I considered my money.

Good places to go in Vegas:

1) IF youve got the money go to Picasso in the Bellagio for dinner, very expensive but worth every penny.

2) Not a fan of the Paris Hotel but Mon Ami Gabi is great for drinks and appetizers. They serve dinner as well, but you can eat your fill and be very happy with the variety from the appetizer menu and they tend to be better then the main courses.

3) The buffet at the RIO...yes the line is long but grab a couple of cocktails and wait in that line, it's the best buffet in town, in my opinion.

4) Quarks Bar at the Star Trek experience. Theres two rides now the original and a new one and theyre both good as is the shop and sci-fi themed casino area but Quarks Bar is the place to hang out. Good burgers and booze and they have costumed employees walking around. The most fun is trying to figure out who works their and is dressed like a klingon and who is just dressed like a klingon. Make a drinking game of it, we do.

5) The Wynn hotel's coffee shop is great and you should check out the Wynn anyway as it's really something. Get the eggs benedict, you wont be dissapointed. I actually consider it to be the second best eggs benedict ever, one of my favorite things. Especially when hung over.

I'm not a big night club/dance club guy but I do enjoy a good lounge and the hotel lounge at the mirage tends to be good as does the one at treasure island which usually has a reggae band, always fun.

I'm sure I'll think of more, have fun.

Where abouts are you staying? I stayed at the Tropicanna - which was a dive...or maybe the room we had just was lol...

I was just in Las Vegas about a Month ago!! Oh i would LOVE to go back! Its so beautiful!! I highly reccommend just walking down the strip with absolutely no purpose, at like Midnight or One O'Clock. The weather is starting to Cool down, and the lights are beautiful. All 5 nights that I was there, thats what we did...we walked back from wherever we were to our Hotel. It was gorgeous.

I wish I could tell you some stories - but they may not be appropriate - so I won't chance it.

The MGM is a nice Casino, I gambled there, I lost. The Venetian is absolutely GORGEOUS if you have a couple hours to kill just to and walk around in it the architechture, and the art, and pretty much everything about it just beautiful. (Madame Tusaudes - the wax museum is also in there - its cool).

New York New York is cool if you have a younger crowd of people going with you, the Coyote Ugly Bar is in there, lots of fun stuff! They sell slushy type drinks (Margarita's and Daiquiri's mostly) just outside the Bar for SUPER cheap - and all of the Las Vegas Strip is Liscenced, so you can walk down the strip with your Beers/Drinks.

Planet Hollywood has some good stores to shop in, however, the Outlet stores are MUCH cheaper - Cab Drivers know the one to take you too, its the outdoor one. Cab is about $14 from The MGM to the Outlet Stores.

We saw Cher, but unless your a Cher Fan, then you might not want to do that. She was GREAT live. (It was a bunch of girls who went lol).

AND if you have a Car and are a little adventerous... you could go up and get some Pictures of Area 51...a cab ride would be expensive, i think its an hour and a half away... And there is actually a tour company that does tours up to Area 51, I think it only runs on Wednesdays...

Anyway just some things to do... Have fun tho!

Jeez, I love our yearly girl trips to Vegas. Husbands are not allowed. HeHe.
Great suggestions that you've had so far. Every hotel has something unique and great about it.

If you just want a great place to go for a great beer stop by Jimmy Buffet's at the Flamingo.

And I agree with CA that you gotta go to Area 51 and get your pic taken at the "will use deadly force' sign. I was denied that chance on my last trip because my aunt had two broken ribs and couldn't handle the drive.

If you wanted to take in a show, I would recommend either the Cirque de Solei show "KA" (at the MGM), or Penn and Teller (if they are still at the Rio). Both well worth the money.

Blue Man Group was a good show too.

If you are into gambling, I've had better luck on the slots/video poker at the Luxor, and table games at Excalibur.

Have a great time, and share your experiences here for sure!
