The religious right built this country at a time when liberals didn't even exist. I'm trying to figure out who the "new" enemy is. LOL

*cough* Bull# *cough*

Just like a liberal to claim something is incorrect without supplying contradictory evidence.

Revisionist historian to the core, huh?
Funny, but I thought the first English settlers were here to escape religious tyranny?
I know you've been asked before, so I apologize for the repeat, but just how old are you or claim to be?

Yeah, because Thomas Jefferson and Ben Franklin and Thomas Paine and James Madison and......etc etc etc were the most religious people

Now I have listened to Howard Stern and Rush Limbaugh and have been offended by both at different times. But I would NEVER question either's right to freedom of speech. I can always turn the radio or television off.

I agree 100%

And I would like to add that I am MUCH more offended that the government or church should think that I am so stupid that I need to be protected, by them of course, from someone elses words.

On this one I am with the Colonel

Jefferson, in the Declaration of Independence, wrote of the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God.

Not only that, but the Constitution's moral standards were most definitely based on religion. At that time religion was that only thing that policed morailty.

I'm not a religious nut either, in fact I haven't been in a church since 1976 or so, but I understand the concept behind it's moral guidelines.
and there is no doubt that our founding fathers did as well.

But what I said was that liberal left-wingers didn't exist in those days. If so, topics like gay marriage, and high school tests written in espanol would have been brought up prior to the 70's.

Those "liberal left-wingers" did exist. They had liberal ideas running around. Remember, back then Protestant/Catholic marriage was more or less a liberal idea. Also, interracial marriage was once a liberal idea too.

I again am torn on this issue.

For one, I like the fact that most "dubious" activities on television, happen on cable, which all people can regulate for themselves and not have anothers want of "vile" material impede their lives.

On the other hand, we are not to impede the freedom of speech.

I think that if there was an alternative to public radio, then things might be better, and do not say XM cause that for now is crap.

So, you think that the religious right is wholesale destructive to human rights.

Well, I decline to agree that infanticide is a human right.

Some of the liberal left are lobbying to allow parents to extend the infanticide to include children as old as a few years. They contend that parents should be able to decide to end children's lives after 1-3 years of age--after enough time for the parents to decide if the given child is worth bothering with.

Certainly the corrosive effects of rampantly approved, pushed, advertised, coerced homosexuality is now considered a human right. This even though anthropology can cite absolutely no culture throughout recorded history which has very long survived broadly approved homosexuality.

Similar is true of male, female roles. No culture has long survived male/female roles being wholesale confused.

Yet, trashing men and fathers is now considered not only right but hip.

All of this and more has been planned and funded by the NWO folks determined to shred our society. They are evidently happy to enlist Howard as a major tool stooge. All the better when Howard can blame the Christian right.

Actually, corrosive, corrupting evil which destroys the moral fabric of society ends up enslaving and destroying human rights much more visciously and thoroughly and lastingly than anything even off the wall Christians might do.

Folks who end up addicted to sexual acting out and perversion in everything from raping and murdering infants to deliberately gangbanging with aids are imprisoned in a vise far more restrictive than anything the Christian right would even think of legislating.

Fathers and husbands addicted to porn to the desertion of quality relationships, healing and wholeness with their spouses are enslaved, bound and restricted much more than any Christian right group might imagine to do.

Howard Stern has a LOT to answer for. May God have mercy on his enslaved soul.
