Teen teacher killer sues state

www.news.com.au

A WOMAN imprisoned for fatally stabbing her juvenile detention cooking teacher is suing the state of NSW for allowing her access to knives.

The Daily Telegraph reports Debbie Adams was just 16 when she stabbed TAFE teacher Scott Bremmer, 23, during a cooking class at Yasmar Juvenile Justice Centre in July 1999.

Now 25, Adams is suing the state for negligence, saying authorities should have known she had an "unusually enhanced interest in knives".

Can you seriously believe this?

She better not win this lawsuit, it's a farce!

Imagine the can of worms it will open, for more frivilous types of lawsuits.

Will people trying to suicide by pistol sue Glock when their guns jam? Will an arsonist sue a shop for selling him matches? Crazy...

Damn, and us Brits were hoping that Oz would be the last refuge of common sense and decency. Looks like things are going tits up downunder too...

It's getting bad here, too...

The more laws that are made, the more that common sense escapes being applied.

I'd like to see a restriction on the number of law graduates. Maybe that will help sort out the crap in the future.

Who's idea was it to support this girl's lawsuit??? Didn't they bother to think how insulting it would be for the VICTIM's family to know that his murderer wants money FOR KILLING HIM???

I know, its just appalling in every sense.

I don't understand why whatever authority doesn't just say "you are fully aware of your faculties and knew right from wrong, yet you still murdered someone. You will spend the remainder of your days rotting in a prison cell, because WE, the people, do not want YOU staining the good name of Australian civilization."

Hell, bring back capital punishment. If you have DNA evidence that person A killed person B with intent, then why the # should your society have to bear the burden of this human waste?
