Maliki raises possibility that Iraq might ask U.S. to leave

Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al Maliki raised the possibility that his country won't sign a status of forces agreement with the United States and will ask U.S. troops to go home when their U.N. mandate to be in Iraq expires at the end of the year.

"Iraq has another option that it may use," Maliki said during a visit to Amman, Jordan. "The Iraqi government, if it wants, has the right to demand that the U.N. terminate the presence of international forces on Iraqi sovereign soil."

Spin that Bush. I would like to see this come to pass and I would love to see how Bush tries to deal with it. If this does happen and Bush refuses we will be exposed for what we are, Oppressors and Occupiers. This war needs to end and I think the Iraqis are the ones who may ultimately have to make this happen.

Breaking news: Iraq is its own country.

Wouldn't it be wonderful to be told to leave? Bet this is one exit scenario the Pentagon and administration never even conceived of.

We've already been there longer than WW II; it's about time we shipped out and the Iraqis begin dealing with their own problems and we stop wasting precious lives and resources on this staggering strategic mistake.

But we'll doubtless just ignore them.

It is not the Iraqi's problems because the US actually started the whole situation. The US will not pull out because they have their military strategically placed in case they go head to head with Iran. The US occupation is going to be in the Middle East until it turns into Israel.
