Ahmed Ali Saleh, the son of President Ali Abdullah Saleh has been shot by a member of his own army. He has been transferred to a hospital in Amman,
Jordan. There is no word on his condition at this moment. This comes after security forces,which Ahmed Ali Saleh was in charge of, have arrested two
leading al Qaeda members in their pursuit of militants in the south Yemeni mountains. It is not known if there is a connection between the two
incidents.

AMMAN, Jordan, March 4 (UPI) -- A military commander Thursday shot and wounded the son of the president of Yemen before he was shot to death,
sources told UPI.
Ahmed Ali Saleh, the son of President Ali Abdullah Saleh, was transported from Sanaa to a hospital in Amman, Jordan, by private jet, the sources said.
His condition was not released.
It was unclear whether the shooting was related to a campaign launched Tuesday against extremist groups in the district of Abeen.
Ahmed Ali Saleh heads the country's special anti-terrorism forces.
The assassin has been killed, and it is not know at this time if he was tied to the terrorist groups that were being rounded up. The condition of
Ahmed Ali Saleh is not being released, however he was reported to have been alive at the time he was transferred to the hospital in Jordan. Yemen is
known for housing al Qaeda members, and is where the U.S.S. Cole was refueling when it was bombed.
