some tips and thoughts on the games (being serious here, 100% serious)
teamwork is essential in the games. In previous games there were different prizes. One game the prize was the website itself, with built in traffic
and, therefore, built in advertising revenue. Other games had mini prizes of books and dvds and I won
one
of thesein one game.
I'm not sure how this one is going to work but in previous games, you got an answer and moved on and everyone worked together providing thoughts and
researching different ideas. We spent countless hours in chat tossing ideas around and laughing our collective butts off. Yes, eventually, only one
person wins but getting there is a blast and trying to do it alone is nowhere near as much fun working with new and old friends. I had the final
answer to everything about a half hour before anyone else did and I couldn't confirm the answer (confirmation was a tricky puzzle in and of itself).
I spent 30 minutes trying some of the dumbest stuff you could imagine. I was pumped full of adrenaline, the excitement of winning was amazing but
then I realized a couple of things. One, I had no idea what I would do with the grand prize (the website) and even if I did want to run the site, I
had no idea how to do that. Hell, even now a year into my being a part of the business end of this site and I still don't know how things work.
Second, I was talking to ten or so friends in chat when I figured out the last answer. We had all been trying to get this final answer and we were
all throwing things out there for discussion and I got it. I never would have figured out the answer without these guys. I never would have moved
from question one to question two without them. some of the questions took more than a week to answer and these guys worked around the clock trying
to decipher the puzzle. These guys spent hours and days and weeks posting urls all over the place to build up the traffic per the game's
requirements. Without these guys and the others who weren't in chat at the time, I would never have continued with the game. So, after a very short
period of time, I told them the answer. Oddly enough, they all tried to figure out how to confirm it but nobody pulled the trigger as they all tried
to get the prize for me.
Here I am, not wanting the prize and they were still trying to help me win it. That is friendship and teamwork and that is why you play these games.
