British Parliament Approves Tough Terror Law

The measure, which still has to be passed by the Upper House of Parliament, would mean that Britain could hold terror suspects in pre-trial detention for much longer than most other western democratic countries.

Earlier Wednesday, Brown defended the planned extension from currently 28 days to 42 days as a "necessity" in view of the growing complexity and sophistication of terror plots.

Really?I bet british citizens are just quaking in their boots!

Again i havent heard any of this but im sure someone from britain can confirm this.

It's only been passed by the House of Commons so far. It hasn't been passed by the House of Lords yet, and the chances are it'll be rejected by them.
