The End of the Internet?

Is this a hoax or could it actually be in the planning? There's major speculation that this may be a hoax, but just from what I've seen, it seems pretty realistic.

Secret Plan to Kill the Internet by 2012 Leaked?

ISP's have resolved to restrict the Internet to a TV-like subscription model where users will be forced to pay to visit selected corporate websites by 2012, while others will be blocked, according to a leaked report. Despite some people dismissing the story as a hoax, the wider plan to kill the traditional Internet and replace it with a regulated and controlled Internet 2 is manifestly provable.

I was hoping to get some info from people that are a little more savvy on providers, hosting, etc.



Could internet providers really succeed in such an event as this, or can people find way around this, such as setting up their own Public Provider Service free of charge?
